Spooky Season is upon us and with it comes a whole range of Halloween themed fun. Now, Halloween weekend itself is still a little ways off, however many of these events have limited seating or tickets so if you see something you want to go to, it’s best to act fast!

Bizarre Beijing's Airsoft Zombie Apocalypse

Bizarre Beijing are bringing an outdoor zombie shooting experience in the lead up to Halloween. Set after an apocalyptic event that's turned most of humanity into undead zombies, you and your team have to try and survive in a world overrun with monsters. You’ll be battling with the undead with live-action airsoft combat, guns, equipment and snacks are included in the price.

Shriek Night

Brought to you by the great minds behind Drunk Shakespeare, Middle Kingdom Creatives are back with a spooktacular run of shows called Shriek Night. Each performance will feature six different short plays all centered around the theme of Halloween. Tickets for these shows normally sell out pretty fast so you’d better act quickly if you want a seat!

Halloween Party at Zarah

Zarah will be transforming into a haunted house on Oct 28. Expect creepy decorations like bats, ghosts and spiders along with live DJ sets playing spooky tunes to get you in the Halloween spirit. They will have all night specials on their Black Magic Gluehwine (RMB 50), special Halloween Shots (RMB 20) and Jing-A draft beer deal (RMB 40). Turn up in a frightening costume and you’ll also get a free shot on the house.

Rumble in the Jumble's Thriller Bazaar

Rumble in the Jumble will be putting on a Thriller Bazaar this Halloween. Expect multiple vendors selling a range of products such as jewelry, cosmetics, art, food and more along with family friendly activities and a charity raffle. They are currently calling for vendors, so if you're interested in taking part as a vendor, scan the QR code in the poster! The deadline for vendor sign up is Oct 13.

Date Night China's BOOzy Beijing Halloween Olympics

Date Night China are bringing BOOzy Beijing Halloween Olympics to EAST Hotel. In order to compete you’ll need to assemble a team of four people. You and your team will be tested on strength, agility, and drinking ability. There will be eight rounds of challenges and each team is in it to win a weekend brunch at FEAST, vouchers for food and drinks and more, plus there's even a prize for best team costumes. If you don’t want to compete you can also come as a spectator. Following the event, there will be an after party at Xian Bar, so yet more fun to be had.

Cultural Keys Presents: Traditional Chinese Horror Halloween!

If you’re looking for a family friendly Halloween event then Cultural Keys has you covered. They’re incorporating Chinese monsters, ghouls and other supernatural creatures to whip up their Traditional Chinese Horror Halloween. During the event, attendees will be paired up to paint each other’s faces like a Chinese ghost or zombie. They’ll also be telling spooky Chinese ghost stories and monster tales along with other fun crafts and activities too that are suitable for both adults and children. Soft drinks and snacks will also be available.

Beijing Postcard's Midnight in Peking Walking Tour

Beijing Postcards are bringing back their Midnight in Peking Walking Tour, the walking tour that delves into a real life Beijing horror story: the unsolved murder of British girl Pamela Werner in 1937. Author Paul French explored this mysterious murder in his book Midnight in Peking and during this walking tour you’ll follow in the footsteps of the murder investigation and find out about Pamela’s gruesome demise. The tour will end with 1930s style cocktails at Beijing Postcards gallery where there will also be a presentation of archival material related to the case.

Slow Boat’s Ghouls on Wheels

This Halloween Slow Boat is back with their Ghouls on Wheels promotion where their ghoulish drunks will rock up to five Halloween parties in Beijing with a keg of beer and other goodies. Partygoers will then have 20minutes to drink as much as they can before they roll off to the next party. A call for submission will go live on their official WeChat account on Oct 20 so be sure to scan the QR code to follow them and keep an eye out.

Furry Tales Halloween Party, Sanlitun

For pet owners in Beijing, Furry Tales is bringing a pet friendly Halloween Party to the capital. Drag Me Back To Hell Halloween Drag Show

Haus of Lily will be putting on their annual Halloween drag show at Home Plate. Always a fun filled night with amazing performances from some of Beijing’s best drag queens, this year it will feature Blanche Cookiepuss, Ja'mie Displays, Krystal De Canteur, Midnight Lotus, Maggies, Miss Hymn and Miss Lola Du Jour. The dress code is Scream, Queens! and there will be prizes for best dressed. You’ll need to purchase tickets in advance, plus you'll need to go to Home Plate to pick up your wristband at least one day in advance.

Spook-Tacular Brunch at Zarah

Another place offering family friendly Halloween fun is Cafe Zarah. In addition to their usual all-you-can-eat brunch, the theater dance company MAMONAHI will be running a Spooky Corner from noon-2pm for kids. They’ll be organizing activities like face painting, ghost bowling, pumpkin stomp, spider web walking as well as a “Best Evil Laugh” contest and more. Zarah will also be serving up some Halloween specials such as Spider Deviled Eggs, Rotten Spaghetti, Coconut Hummus Bats, Cups of Dirt, Sweet Ghosts etc.
