In recent years, Beijing has become a lot more pet-focused, with luxury pet stores, pet-friendly cafes and bars, and dedicated pet bakeries opening up around the capital, the latter of which means that if you're looking to celebrate your furry friend's special day in style, then there are plenty of options! There are numerous bakeries offering delicious, wholesome treats tailored just for dogs and cats.
From elegant creations at luxury hotels to playful designs from popular chains, there's something for every pet (and budget!). Whether you're planning a birthday bash, or you just want to spoil your four-legged companion, here's where to find the best pet-friendly cakes in the city.
Mandarin Oriental Cake Shop
The Mandarin Oriental Cake Shop has recently launched a Pet Cake Collection. Created under the expert guidance of Executive Pastry Chef Moo, the pastry team has crafted two signature flavors, one tailored for dogs and one for cats. Both made with wholesome, pet-friendly components, the dog variation includes chicken breast, egg, oat, carrot and peanut sauce, while the cat variation has chicken breast, salmon, egg, oat, carrot and peanut sauce. Each cake is beautifully decorated and comes complete with an array of extra decorations and accessories. Cakes are RMB 398 and need to be ordered at least 24 hours in advance either via phone (010 8509 8898) or through the Mandarin Oriental's WeChat shop. Holiland Pet
Did you know that popular bakery chain Holiland has a dedicated pet bakery? Well, you do now! They have a multitude of different pet cakes to choose from in a variety of flavors. From simple cakes with a paw print indent to ones shaped like a ball of yarn or even a paw thumbs up, you're guaranteed to find the paw-fect treat for your pet. Their most recent cake additions are called Woof Woof Party (RMB 138) and come in either chicken, duck and egg yolk flavor or chicken and duck flavor. Additionally, for an extra RMB 5 you can select an edible 3D dog figurine that looks like your dog! All their cakes are made with pure, additive-free ingredients and can be purchased through the Holiland Pet mini program by scanning the QR code below. They need to be ordered one to two days in advance.
Star Pets
Located in Sanlitun Soho, Star Pets has cakes available in-store, or they can be purchased through their mini program. Most cakes come in a variety of different sizes, so you can pick the cake based on your pet's size or whether they'll be sharing with their furry friends! The cakes also be customized by flavor, with options like chicken, duck, beef, salmon or a combination of a few, and you can specify whether the cake is for a cat or a dog. If you're ordering via the mini program, you can choose to either pick up the cake in-store or get it delivered to you. Cakes need to be ordered two days in advance. J•M Pet Cake
J•M Pet Cake has two locations in Beijing, one in Sanlitun Soho and a new one in Tongzhou that opened very recently. They don't have a mini program, so you'll need to either order in-store or via phone; however, they do have a range of cake vouchers on Dianping if you want to get an idea about options and prices. They have lots of different creative dog- and cat-friendly cakes in a range of sizes, flavors and shapes, from normal round creations to ones in the shape of a cat or dog. There's even a Labubu Cake (RMB 456) if you (or your four-legged friend) are a fan of that craze!

Hao Shi Ji Pet Bakery
This is another pet bakery that has both a physical store and a mini program. Within the mini program, there are lots of customization options, such as cake size, choice of meat and whether it's for a dog or cat. You can get everything from Mini Cakes (RMB 48-68) up to larger 4-, 5- and 6-inch cakes (RMB 148-498). You can choose to get your cake delivered, or you can pick it up in store. Simple cakes need to be ordered two to three days in advance, and more complicated, customized cakes need to be ordered three to seven days in advance.
