Eat – Seasonal Burger Vol. 3 at Slowboat
Slowboat's Seasonal Burger Series returns with Vol. 3: The Tianjin Jianbing Burger – a bold spin on North China's beloved street food. After winning over burger fans in Tianjin and Shanghai, this special edition is now available at all Slowboat locations in Beijing for the entire month of August.
The burger sees an all-beef patty on a buttery brioche bun, topped with Slowboat's signature Ayi-oli, crispy house-made guozi, jianbing sauce, a fried egg, and fresh scallions – it's a Tianjin classic, remixed Slowboat-style.
Learn – Daughters of the Bamboo Grove: From China to America, an Author Book Talk
This Wednesday (Aug 6), join RASBJ for an online book talk with award-winning author Barbara Demick as she discusses her latest work, Daughters of the Bamboo Grove: From China to America, a True Story of Abduction, Adoption, and Separated Twins. This powerful book follows the extraordinary true story of Fangfang and Shuangjie, twin sisters separated under China's one-child policy and sent to different worlds. Demick explores the impact of forced adoptions, the rise of international adoption and the rare tragedy of separated twins.
Daughters of the Bamboo Grove, an Author Book Talk, is happening online on Wed, Aug 6, from 8pm to 9pm. The talk is free for RASBJ members; RMB 50 for members of RAS branches in London, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Seoul; and RMB 100 for non-members. Scan the QR code in the poster above to register.
Party – SNST Pres. Full Moon Pool Party
This Saturday (Aug 9), SNST is back with one of their epic pool parties, and this time they're bringing the iconic Thailand Full Moon Party vibes to the city – complete with neon lights, glowing body paint and non-stop energy under the moonlit sky.
Taking place at IBIZA the Oasis, you can expect Afro/Latin house, hip-hop, and pop beats from DJs Mike, George, CjakJ, and Sieya, plus MCs Mxcho and MC Lier, to keep you dancing all night. There will also be pool races, beer pong, a UV body paint competition and more.
The Full Moon Pool Party will be taking place on Sat, Aug 9, from 5pm until late at IBIZA the Oasis. Early bird tickets are RMB 128, presale tickets are RMB 158 and tickets at the door are RMB 188.
