Eat – A Taste of Switzerland at George’s Restaurant

Join two-Michelin-starred chef Christian Kuchler for a decidedly Swiss lunch and dinner set menu at Hotel Éclat Beijing’s George’s Restaurant. Far from traditional fare, though, Chef Kuchler will make this two-day event unforgettable with exquisite dishes blending precision, creativity and seasonal ingredients. The lunch and dinner menus will be accompanied by an optional wine pairing.
A Taste of Switzerland with Chef Christian Kuchler is happening from Thu, Sep 11, to Sat, Sep 13, from 6pm to 11pm at George’s Restaurant in Hotel Éclat Beijing. Seats are RMB 888 for a 3-course lunch and you can add a three glass wine pairing for an additional RMB 300 (Friday and Saturday), or RMB 1,288 for a 5-course dinner and you can add a five glass wine pairing for an additional RMB 500 (Thursday and Friday). Listen – Beijing Poets at The Hutong

There’s no such thing as too much poetry, and you can hear the poems of three published Beijing-based poets at The Hutong this Saturday. The lineup includes Anthony Tao, Feniá G. and David Harrison Horton, who will be launching his newest full-length collection, Necessary, during the event. Anthony Tao and Feniá G.’s poetry books, We Met in Beijing and SPOUT: A Poetry Memoir, will also be available for purchase at the event.

Drink – Slowboat’s 11th Annual IPA Week


Slowboat’s yearly idolization of the IPA is back and better than ever, featuring a whopping 30 iterations of the hoppy pale ale to choose from: ten from Slowboat, ten from ten Chinese breweries and, new for this year, ten more from ten international breweries. Along with all these brews, there will also be guided tastings and brewery tours to look forward to. Read this post for more details.
Slowboat’s 11th IPA Week is happening now until Sun, Sep 14, at all Slowboat locations. Entry is free. Beers are available at special discount throughout the week: RMB 35 for select Slowboat IPAs, RMB 40 for domestic IPAs and RMB 50 for international IPAs.
