Italian Restaurant D'Addario Comes to Houhai

Tucked away behind Houhai, Italian restaurant D'Addario opened back in August, but it's only just come under our radar. The space has a warm and welcoming atmosphere with a pale yellow and blue color scheme, and the decor is kept to a minmum so that the food can be the star of the show. They have a relatively large, main dining area along with some private rooms for more intimate gatherings, plus a small deli section on the right hand side of the entrance.

On the menu, they have a range of delicious Italian offerings, including pasta, homemade pizza, appetizers, main courses and more. Some particular favorites of ours were the Lasagne (RMB 75), which was decadent, rich and cheesy, and the Prosciutto di Parma Black Truffle and Mushroom Pizza (RMB 108), which had the perfect balance of truffle sauce. Some other dishes to watch out for are the Rigatoni with Smoked Salmon and Cream Sauce (RMB 78), the Tomato and Fig Burrata Salad (RMB 90), the Seafood Risotto (RMB 88) and, of course, their signature Tiramisu (RMB 55).

Carbo Opens New Bread Bar in Liangma Courtyard

Earlier this year, Carbo opened up its first branch inside the new Friendship Store complex, and now they've opened up another spot in Linangma Courtyard. While their first location is all about pasta, this new location is all about bread and other baked goods, although they do still have a few pasta dishes on the menu here as well. Along with the numerous freshly baked goods such as croissants, sourdough, focaccia etc., they've got some great brunch options as well as tea, coffee, wine and other drinks.

Fú Burger Pop-Up at Beersmith

Famous Tianjin burger joint Fú Burger is doing a special pop-up at Beersmith this weekend (Nov 14-16). There will be two of their signature burgers available: the Wild Mushroom Beef Burger and the Spice Honey Glazed Fried Chicken Burger. To pair with the burgers, Beersmith has picked out one of their brews for each. For the beef burger, it's the 2025 Double Chocolate Imperial Pastry Stout, and for the chicken burger, it's the Organic Malt IPA. If you want to try these burgers without going all the way to Tianjin, then this weekend is your chance!

Fierce Beer Tap Takeover at The Factory

Tomorrow (Nov 15) from 2pm, Scottish brewery Fierce Beer will be doing a tap takeover at The Factory. This is the first time that Fierce Beer's brews will be available in China, and they'll have four different beers on tap to choose from, which you can see in the poster below. They will also have cans of Iron Brew Beer Cooler, a special collab beer between Fierce Brew and the famous Scottish drink Irn-Bru. There are only 24 cans available, though, so you'd better get there early if you want to nab one!

Along with the tap takeover, The Factory will also have a new cask beer on tap. Called the Scottish Wee Bit Heavy (8 percent ABV), the batch has been soaked in bourbon oak wood chips to give it a smooth and sweet belly-warming finish. You can read more about the tap takeover here.
