TEDxBeixinqiao Returns With “Ideas That Move” on Dec 6
TEDxBeixinqiao is back with their annual flagship event on Dec 6 from 1pm to 5pm at Hangxing Science Theater. This year, the event is called “Ideas That Move” and will feature talks on longevity science, sports cardiology, AI, philosophy, teen mental health, leadership, untranslatable words, and childhood in the age of “too much.”
The talks aim to not only inspire but also give the audience practical frameworks and concrete tools for navigating today's world. TEDxBeixinqiao has lined up an incredible roster of ten speakers from around the world, from leading researchers and entrepreneurs to an 8-year-old primary school student. It promises to be an afternoon full of energy, imagination and thought-provoking ideas that are sure to stick with you long after the event finishes.
This year's lineup is split into four key categories: health and longevity, the future of technology, philosophy, and youth voices. Now, let's take a closer look at this year's speakers.
Health & Longevity

Dr. Abraham K. C. Ho (Canada), Chief Health Officer, Bycare Health
“Breakthroughs in Longevity Science – How to Enhance Healthspan Past 100 and Beyond”
A surgeon-turned-longevity specialist working with ultra-high-net-worth clients, Dr. Ho explores how recent leaps in biotech and AI could extend not just lifespan but also healthspan and what we can do now to change how we age.

Dr. Youmin Zhong (China), Consultant Cardiologist, Beijing United Family Hospital
“Building Bridges Between Medicine and Sports”
Founder of the hospital's Sports Cardiology Program and a lifelong runner, Dr. Zhong shows how cardiorespiratory fitness can turn vague advice like “exercise more” into precise movement prescriptions that prevent disease and boost everyday vitality.

Dr. Shervin Molayem (USA), Periodontist & Researcher
“The Forgotten Organ: Building Trust Between the Mouth, the Body, and AI”
A leading voice on the mouth-body connection, Dr. Molayem reveals how gum disease and inflammation affect heart disease, diabetes, and even Alzheimer's. It also explores how AI-driven dentistry might rebuild trust between patients, dentists and medicine as a whole.
Future, Technology & Story

Tom van Dillen (The Netherlands), Managing Partner, Greenkern
“The Magic Loop – How Sci-Fi Helps Us Read the Future Hiding in Plain Sight”
A Beijing- and Berlin-based advisor to organizations such as Volkswagen and the World Economic Forum, van Dillen explains how science fiction can be read as a dataset for spotting signals about our real future in AI, smart cities and beyond.

Gianluigi Perrone (Italy), Film Director
“How I Explained Life and Death to My Daughter with Artificial Intelligence”
A pioneer in digital cinema, VR storytelling and AI tools, Perrone gives a talk that follows a father who uses an AI-generated cartoon to explain death to his 6-year-old. It raises intimate questions about grief, technology and what stories we hand to the next generation.

Nathan Midler (USA), Executive & Entrepreneur
“How to Lead Through Exponential Change.”
After two decades in China leading initiatives at IBM and Harvard Business School Publishing, Midler introduces his Navigator Mindset framework, which shows how orienting, exploring and discovering can help leaders not just cope with disruption but lead through it.
Philosophy, Culture & Everyday Ideas

Prof. Misha Tadd (USA), Associate Professor, Nankai University; Director, Global Laozegetics Research Center
“The Laozi as a Bridge for Transcending Differences”
There are over 2,000 documented translations of the Laozi in 97 languages. Prof. Tadd's talk looks at how this ancient text travels across cultures and why it still helps people remember their shared humanity in a divided world.

Prof. Caroline Pires Ting (Brazil), Philosopher & Visual Artist
"Bridges, Not Barriers: The Hidden Power of Untranslatables"
A postdoctoral researcher in philosophy and director of international relations at the Logica Universalis Association and Museu.XYZ, Prof. Pires Ting explores how words we “can't quite translate” hold emotional truths and can become bridges between cultures rather than walls.
Youth Voices

Zoie Zhao (China), 8-Year-Old Student
“The Power of a Cardboard Tube”
Zhao uses the story of her hamster, Cangcang, and a too-crowded cage to show how too many activities and too much “stuff” can squeeze out room for real play, gently inviting parents to protect the blank spaces in their children's lives.

Madelyn Li (USA), 16-Year-Old Student
“Westerners Don't Protect Teenhood”
A passionate debater and first-time TED speaker, Li explores how extreme social media and tech habits are fueling a loneliness epidemic among Gen Z. She offers concrete ways to better protect teenhood in a hyper-online world.
