Beijing News: Temperature Drop & UK, Canada Visa-Free Policy
Beijing is a happening city! Don't miss a thing with our weekend roundup of the latest news
Temperatures to Drop This Week

Chinese New Year and warming temperatures signal the arrival of spring; however, this week Beijing will experience an encore of cooler weather. From today’s peak of 19 C, the high temp will fall to 6 C tomorrow (Feb 22), and daytime highs will stay in the mid to high single digits over the next week. Lows will fall more gradually, reaching as cold as minus 5 C on Monday before beginning to rise slightly again.
Strong winds are also expected, corresponding with the drop in temperature, and the public is advised to take adequate precautions for the wind and cold in the coming days.
UK, Canadian Visitors to China Granted Visa-Free Entry

On Feb 17, China officially implemented an anticipated visa-waiver policy for UK and Canadian passport holders. Individuals holding ordinary passports from the UK or Canada who come to China for business, tourism, visiting relatives and friends, exchange visits, or transit for no more than 30 days are now eligible for visa-free entry.
Currently the policy will be in place until Dec 31 of this year.
