Burgers and Brews: Huddler Opens, New Jing-A Burger & IPA + More News
Today, we're taking a look at two of our favorite things here at the Beijinger: burgers and craft beer! Burger slingers Huddler have opened up a fully-fledged restaurant, Jing-A has launched a special anniversary beer and burger, there's a new Sichuan burger at Overtone and more.
Huddler Opens Fully-Fledged Restaurant

If you were a fan of Huddler's burgers at last year's Juicy Burger Fest, then we've got great news for you! They've now opened a fully-fledged restaurant, Huddler Diner and Bar, in Gaobeidian. Here you can get their signature burgers like the Huddler Burger and Smash Burger, as well as an array of other creative fusion dishes with a Chinese twist. It also doubles as a gin bar, becoming Seize the Gin once nighttime hits, with a full lineup of gin-based cocktails.

Jing-A Launches Dong Bei 10th Anniversary Brew and Burger

Last Friday, to mark ten years of making their Dongbei Hazy IPA, Jing-A launched a new beer called Dong Bei 10th Anniversary, a modern hazy IPA. A fresh take on the original, it's brewed with four Australian hops: Galaxy, Vic Secret, Eclipse and Enigma, fermented with LalBrewPamona yeast. It's got strong tropical fruit tasting notes with citrus, grape and peach aromas, it's got an 8 percent ABV that's deceptively smooth, so be careful!
To go with the new beer, they've also created a limited-edition burger. Named the Qiqihar BBQ Wagyu Beef Burger, it features a thick Wagyu beef patty loaded with M5 short ribs which have been marinated in the Dong Bei 10th Anniversary beer before grilling.

If you want to try both the beer and burger, plus nab yourself some free Jing-A swag, they've got Anniversary Sets available too. Overtone Adds New Sichuan Sausage Burger to the Menu

Overtone has just added a new burger to their menu that's sure to be a hit with spice lovers: the Sichuan Sausage Burger. At its base is one of their classic patties made from premium brisket, which is then topped with authentic Sichuan sausage, crisp Sichuan pickles and finished with their house-made mala sauce.

New Brew, Class of 1855 Brett Strong Ale, Arrives at Slowboat

Last Thursday, Slowboat added a new beer to their impressive roster. Called the Class of 1855 Brett Strong Ale, it undergoes two months of fermentation with Lithuanian farmhouse yeast and Brett yeast and then is dry-hopped during the final stage with Nelson Sauvin hops. Inspired by skin-contact natural white wine, it has a clean, crisp taste with notes of citrus, and with a hefty 10 percent ABV, it's intended to be savoured slowly. The Class of 1855 Brett Strong Ale is available across all Slowboat locations, which you can see the details of in the poster below.

COMMUNE Launches New Sichuan Peppercorn Beer

Yesterday, COMMUNE launched a new brew named Mai Li Sa Jiao, a Sichuan Pepper Wheat Beer. It has aromas of citrus and coriander seeds, followed by the gently numbing flavor or green Sichuan peppercorns. With a 5 percent ABV, it's a nice light brew that's perfect for spring! Shake Shack Adds New Breakfast Burger to Their Menu

Last week, Shake Shack added a new burger to their breakfast menu. Called the Wake Up Shack, it features tater-tot-style potato balls, crispy applewood-smoked bacon, a fried egg, cheese and a sweet chili sauce all sandwiched inside one of their soft potato buns. The new breakfast burger is available across all their branches until 10am each morning.
Two New Thai-Style Burgers at McDonald's

McDonald's recently launched a limited-time Thai-themed menu, which includes two new burgers. Firstly, there is the Pad Kra Pao Pork Burger, which sees two flame-grilled pork patties topped with a pad kra pao-style chicken (spicy Thai basil minced chicken). The other is the Thai-Inspired Big Chicken Cutlet Burger which takes a large, wavy battered chicken cutlet and pairs it with a green curry sauce. Both of these Thai-inspired burgers are available at all McDonald's branches from now until Mar 24.
