We enjoyed everyone's responses and would love to feed you all, but mattman_183 won us over with "...I invented with my own brain". We have a couple more Thanksgiving dinners to give away on Friday Nov 18 (a comp where you don't have to write an essay) so keep an eye on the blog!
Gwyneth should take a private taxi to an empty part of the great wall and have a picnic with the family.
Inside of her picnic basket should be a meal provided by DaDong (or Pure Lotus, if looking for a veg option).
Bring along a Tai Chi or meditation expert to lead a class on the wall before sundown.
Gwyneth, I'm an English tour guide with a cockney accent. Only 500 RMB/hour
Cheap cheap.
Just kidding.
Restaurants include Haidilao, having meat sticks at 北语大学,scouring Wang Fu Jing for scorpions, colourful dumplings at LiangMaQiao, Sichuan food at Dongzhimen and if all else fails, the unavoidable Peking Duck.
Sightseeing should include BeiHai Park and the usual spots like Temple of Heaven. Something out of the ordinary would be strolling at Peking University, Houhai, NanLuoGuXiang and my all time favourite 798 Art District!
Evenings would depend on the mood. Xiu would be my choice for a decent club, or perhaps chill and relax at VA Live Bar with some good jazz music (Mademoiselle is performing on Saturday!!) at the Hutongs at Yonghegong. End it with a nice TCM massage at Guomao.
And, let me add...doesn't it seem odd that Pass By has their knickers in a knot over thebeijinger calling Hutong Pizza Hutong Pizza; but apparently haven't cared about it enough do anything real over a trademark they've had since 2004, and which Hutong Pizza has supposedly been violating flagrantly for the last 8 years?
minor clarification: they applied for the trademark in 2004, but it was not approved until 2009 (such a wait is common in trademark applications here)

Since Hutong Pizza is located within the...wait for it...hutongs...it makes sense to me that they'd call their place Hutong Pizza. Perhaps a good new name for them would be, "The Place that Sells Pizza In The Hutongs."
Thanks for adding fuel to the challenge. The goal is to try and be more local, but I'm not perfect…and at least I was honest! Your comment also brings up the good point of what is exactly local? I used bread and peanut butter from Jinkelong, whereas my bananas from the side of the street were from the Philippines, so the it's not as straight-forward of an issue as one may expect. Would you be willing to take me out for a day at your favorite local spots?

My favorite is the taro pie at McDonald's. It's inexpensive (two for 7 kuai) and absolutely yummy. Cubes of purple taro in purple sauce. Yum!
