Fragrant, Tender Bites: Dalyan Turkish Restaurant Opens

Curious carnivores seeking to sample Turkish food would do well to seek out this cozy tavern a short stroll south of Hooters.

Enticing aromas from the open charcoal grill will guide your selection; the kofte kebab (RMB 45) is a fragrant and tender bite – pricey when compared to Beijing chuan’r but a welcome change. The smoked lamb skewer (RMB 59) is a little pale on the palate without a side order of mint yogurt; rustic cold veggie dishes (RMB 28-38) and olive-topped hummus (RMB 25) are good for groups.

All the ingredients are apparently sourced locally, with the exception of the sweet Turkish coffee and the bottles of the anise-flavored digestif Raki that line the red brick walls – both excellent ways to end your meal.
