Weekend Live Music Roundup: Buzzcocks, Hang on the Box, Today is Autumn
There are usually two types of things that interest people - the newest things and really old stuff that can last: craftworks, books, songs, movies, fashion trends, etc... In Beijing it's more about innovations in the underground music scene, while the old school stuff comes from other the other end of the world – like Buzzcocks from England. They will be at Yugong Yishan tonight to take us back 30 years. And I thought I missed the '70s…
For those who have really left the world and will never come back, we can still do something to memorialize them – Today is Autumn and two other bands will gather at 2 Kolegas tonight to celebrate Jia Hongsheng, one of China's most talented actors. He took his life in July. The actor once thought he was John Lennon's son when he had a serious drug problem many years ago.
Meanwhile the newest wave is not stopping – check out experimental musicians at Raying Temple tonight and What Bar on Saturday.
