Win Tickets: See Pendulum at Tango!

Drum & bass trio Pendulum are back in Beijing this Saturday (March 10), and we've got tickets to give away to readers overflowing with wit and creativity. Luck doesn't come into it.

Firstly, we've had a lot of people asking us if this event is going ahead, and the answer is yes. Pendulum was originally scheduled to play The One Club, but promoters Cool DJ Agency decided to move the night to Tango following last month's chaotic Calvin Harris gig at The One. Now, Cool DJ Agency have offered up a few tickets for readers of the Beijinger, giving you the chance to immerse yourself in the drum & bass trio's cuts this Saturday.

To nab a pair of slots on the guestlist, tell us:
If you invented a new genre of music, what would it sound like, and what would you call it
?

Leave your answers in the comments box below before noon on Thursday, March 8.

No dice? Tickets to Pendulum can still be yours at RMB 300, or RMB 200 (advance). Saturday's concert starts at 10pm. Call Tango (6425 5677) for more information.

Imagine...really banging techno mixed with swing music with some ridiculously amazing live band playing mad drums and sax/trumpet/trombone.

the associated dance style would be Gabba LindyHop so the music genre is Glindy.

That speed and that style will keep you fit and happy for years!

It would be using nature sound to make pop-music, modern+relax.I will name it Refresh!

Trip-Sian: A combination of trip-hop styled electronic rhythms with some Asian melody in the foreground that could be made by a 7-stringed Chinese zither Guqin (古琴).

Olivier

salsa metal....cuz you know you wanna

I'd say a mix between electro rock and party ska : the drum & ska

Mixing rock part, trumpets, squeez box and whatever ska instrument with a huge drum and bass beat behind it.

MAO-step: The patriotic glory of Maoist 国乐 revolutionary songs, distorted over the sound of Transformers having angry, wobbly breakup sex.

Pipa-hop:
Multi-tracked electric pipa laying down tremolo riffs, complete with board-striking and strings-twisting to add rhythmic percussive and cymbal sounds. Over this, MCs spit rhapsodic verses about the hustle of hutong life and the attainment of Buddhist enlightenment.
Watch your back, Kanye.

My invention would sound like a mix between Dubstep and classical music. Imagine, if you will, the result of Beethoven on mind enhancing chemicals. This creation would be called Basshoven.

what about the slowest band ever, slower than any doom/drone act with a flavour of Calexico's sound?... Opium Beaters would be the name...
