Community Matters: Bikini Run Promises Wet and Wild Fun

Expose your sleek thighs, rippling muscles and run for it. This Saturday, Event Animals is holding a bikini run in Chaoyang Park, giving swimsuit enthusiasts a chance to wear as little as possible during what's left of the summer.

Don't get your hopes up. This is not streaking. However, the word “flash mob” has been used in the event description, and water guns may be employed. Sounds wild.

How little clothing are we talking here? This what the organizers suggest be adorned:

  • Women: bikinis, bathing suit, ridiculously tiny sport clothes
  • Men: Bathing suit, trunks, small shorts, barechest

Runners are meeting at Chaoyang Park South Gate on Saturday at 9:00 am fully dressed and are to bring a small bag to hold whatever items they decide to strip off. The run is 5-10 kilometers with no pressure to finish. Entrance to the park is RMB 5, but it costs nothing to participate.

Here’s a list of recommended gear:

  • Sport shoes.
  • Your Bikini Run apparel
  • Some money
  • Something to take pictures
  • Water
  • (possibly water guns)
