Fly to Bali with Garuda this Christmas for RMB 1,970

It's kind of funny to blog about one tropical destination while staying in another, yet ... here we are.

Your correspondent doesn't mind the cold, but apparently many of you do, so how does Bali sound right about now? Sunshine, blue water and sky, beaches, coconuts, that sort of thing? If it does, then Garuda Indonesia appears fairly eager to make those dreams come true.

The national airline of Indonesia, and 2014's Skytrax World Airline Awards 2014 winner for "world's best cabin crew," reduces flying time between Beijing and major destinations in the country, instead of having to transit in other Asian hub cities like Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore.

Garuda's putting its money, or at least its seats, where its mouth is: fly from Beijing to Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Bali, or Lombok for RMB 940 one way, or RMB 1,970 return, not including tax or surcharges. Travel period is December 19-25, 2014. If you thought you were spending Christmas in Beijing, think that Santa may have just given you something nice in your stocking. If you had a good year and feel like celebrating, business class to the same destinations is available for as little as RMB 5,450, again, not including tax or other fees.

Do we need to say that seats are limited? Better give them a call on 8525 3339.

One road flat safe until Thursday.
