EAT: Qixi Dinners, Tim's Texas Bar-B-Q Eighth Anniversary, New Happy Hour at Bottega

Love birds, don't forget to get your bookings in for Qixi (Chinese Valentine's Day), the most important day in the Chinese romantic calendar, this Thursday, August 20. We rounded up some of the best Qixi dining deals on the blog last week, but there are plenty of other deals around town. Eatalia are offering a romantic set menu for two priced at RMB 427, including a heart-shaped pizza, at all of three of their branches. Enjoy the same menu with a bottle of wine for RMB 520. Over at Annie's, couples who book using the secret word, "Amore", will get two free glasses of wine and a special dessert.

But enough of the forced romance. If you're looking for a way to kick off your Friday, Tim's Texas Bar-B-Q are celebrating their eight anniversary of serving reliable Texas-style barbecue and "the coldest beers in town" to homesick patrons. Tickets, which include free-flow beers and margaritas, and all-you-can-eat barbecue meats, are RMB 88 in advance or RMB 150 on the door.

We revisited Bottega last week for the first time since they opened earlier this year and were very impressed by the quality of the food, as well as the Italian aperitifs. Head over on Thursdays when they have launched a new all-night happy hour, with great prices on cocktails, bottled beers, wines, and Prosecco.
