Beijing Prepares Nearly 3,000 Portapotties for Parade

In preparation for the September 3 parade, nearly 3,000 temporary toilets have been readied around Tian'anmen Square, an average of one per 24 people.

On the actual day, 129 cubicles will be set up in the Tian'anmen area and along the parade route, in addition to the pre-existing 2,390 toilets. When soldiers, diplomats, and various other people of importance participating in the parade will actually be allowed to use them remains unclear.

This is four times as many portable toilets used during the 60th anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party in 2009, Beijing News reports, and immeasurably more than the number available during 2014's Beijing marathon runners. Let's hope four times the number of cleaners and toilet paper are being summoned, too, otherwise, well, yeah.
