Three-Day Fun Music Festival in Fangshan, Aug 26-28

In keeping with Beijing's burgeoning summer festival season, we now have another on the horizon, in the form of the effortlessly titled Fun Music Festival 2016, to be held on August 26-28 at Wanmu Binhe Park in Fangshan District.

Now in its sixth year, the festival's 500,000-square-meter grounds mean that there's plenty of room for the thousands of Chinese day campers. This time, there will be a handful of Beijing's better-known singers and bands, such as Pu Shu, Xu Wei, Zhao Lei, Ye Bei, Shuangzi, The Harridans, Ziyue Qiuye, Rust, Huun Huur Tu, and OOC.

The festival's theme this year is “Beijing Fan’er” (Beijing style), so expect lots of hairless bellies and maybe a couple of wayward bin pissers. Actually, not so unlike music festivals anywhere in the world.

A whole bunch of food vendors and interactive activities can be found on site too, such as a creative culture fair, videogames, body painting, doing cotton candy, archery, and other artistic workshops. Tickets cost RMB 200 (RMB 150 for early birds, or RMB 400 for all three days), and can be purchased here
