Comptoirs de France Celebrates Turning 10 With Baking Book and Special Christmas Desserts

Celebrating its 10-year anniversary, Comptoirs de France has released a bunch of seasonal desserts specially for this Yuletide with Christmas chocolates, three kinds of Yule logs and Christmas cakes as well as pastries, cookies, ginger breads, hot and cold canapés, and king cakes.

In addition, they have also put out the Chinese version of experienced chef and baker Gabriela Scolik‘s latest book Bake! The Quick-Look Cookbook (also available in English). It is the second book that the “Show Me” team has produced, first releasing Eat! The Quick-Look Cookbook in 2015. With 300 baking recipes neatly laid out next to 1,000 illustrations, this step-by-step guide makes it an easy go-to for anyone who wants to dabble in baking (or brush up on their Chinese language skills!). The book includes recipes for treats such as flaky pastry dough, smooth cakes, chocolate mint leaves, lemon tarts, cheesecakes, and buttery apple crumble.

During the release, we were able to get a taste of Comptoirs' new Yule log, throwing us straight into the spirit of Christmas.

Their Yule logs are made using imported Valrhona chocolate, giving the cake a strong chocolatey taste, but not overly sweet. If you're looking for a twist, they also have a Grand Marnier and caramel toffee renditions.

Comptoirs de France also provides king cakes, which are associated with the festival of Epiphany at the end of the Christmas season, including Galette Des Rois which is popular in the northern France, and made up of layers of puff pastry with an almond filling; and Brioche Couronne, which is popular in the south of France, and is a crown-shaped Brioche with candied fruits.
