Hot Models and Frilly Undies: Abercrombie & Fitch and Victoria's Secret Touch Down in Beijing

Two of America's biggest retail brands are about to touch down in Beijing just in time for you to start your Christmas shopping.

The Global Times reported Wednesday that the largest American retailer of women's lingerie, Victoria's Secret, has opened two stores in Beijing's Joy City Chaoyang and Joy City Xidan. Victoria's Secret is well known for its "Angels," renowned models who represent the brand and walk the runway for them once a year in a big budget fashion show. Current Angels include Adriana Lima and Lily Aldridge.

The shops seem to be more focused on perfume and accessories than actual bras and knickers, but if you are in the market for undergarments, you can always check out their online store on Tmall International. The store stocks a full range of products, including bras in sizes AA-DDD, sportswear, and the brand's diffusion line Pink, aimed at young adults. However, note that products are shipped from the US so may take a few weeks to be delivered.

If you prefer your clothes a little more, well, substantial, then you might be more excited to learn that Abercrombie & Fitch, they of the plaid shirts, topless male models, and controversial advertising and hiring practices, will open in Taikoo Li on December 2. The Taikoo Li store will be their eighth store in China. To encourage you to get your spend on, the first 100 customers who splash more than RMB 1,300 in-store on December 2 will receive a free bottle of perfume (so you can smell just like the store!). Taikoo Li is already home to a branch of Abercrombie offshoot brand Hollister Co.

This news comes just days after it was announced that the brand is pulling out of Hong Kong, with their flagship Pedder Street store (and only remaining standalone store) to close before Q2 2017.
