EAT: Local, JW Marriott, and Other Place Barbecues, GLB + TRB Collaborate for The Chef and The Brewer

With Burger Fest in the rearview mirror, voting now underway, and Dragon Boat Festival (May 28-30) coming at us with full force, your tummy needn't grumble, as it's apparently barbecue season and there are enough foodie events to go around for everyone.

Firstly, this Friday (May 26), kicks off JW Marriott's 100 Days of Summer, AKA their ongoing barbecue summer blowout, at Asia Bistro. RMB 458 (including non-alcoholic drinks) will get you unlimited access to the barbecue, packed with spicy churrascos and delicious seafood. An additional RMB 40 gets you free-flow draft beer too, and if you're really getting saucy, an additional RMB 100 gets you free-flow draft beer, red wine, and white wine.

The party kicks off at 6pm every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, all summer long.

Then, on Saturday, head over to TRB Copper for the latest The Chef and The Brewer, celebrating the release of Great Leap's 2017 barrel-aged Wall Builder Stout. The celebration will include a five-course dinner prepared by TRB, with beer pairings and pours of the new stout.

The event kicks off at 7pm and sets will set you back RMB 488 (or RMB 438 for Collectivists). Guests will also receive a limited edition bottle of the Wall Builder Stout to take home. Email jimmy@greatleapbrewing.com to book your spot.

On Sunday (May 28), continue the party in the hutongs at the The Other Place (which seems to be going through something of a slow revival after months of laying low) for a courtyard barbecue, starting at 1pm and organized by Salsicceria Italiania. Expect craft sausages, grilled vegetable paninis, and beer specials for a great way to kick off your elongated weekend.

On May 29, the Local prepares for a massive Memorial Day cookout, with numerous burger and beer sets to choose from, the latter being provided by Boulevard and Firestone Walker. Food includes burgers, chicken, hot dogs, and sausage patties. See below for the full menu, which will be served alongside their normal menu from 3 to 8pm.

And finally, if you have still yet to do so, head over to vote your Beijing Best Burger through the opening round of this year's Burger Cup.
