Forma Night
While most Gongti clubs remain closed for the Two Sessions, Lantern trucks on, first breaking in their newly Funktion-One soundsystem (pictured above) on Thursday. Then on Friday, they'll be hosting a night dedicated to Forma, a new label based out of Beijing that "aims to explore the connection that unconsciously links music with multiple forms of art." More of the usual then? Not so! Forma will focus on "detailed, deep, and minimalistic rhythms [that] are put to sight through visual art ... combined to deliver an immersive experience with a neutral balance." The usual Lantern crew will man Room 1, while Forma  DJs Nigls, Nicolai Zellmani, and Zhiqi head up Room 2. RMB 50. 10.30pm doors. Lantern

Suanpan Presents: Til the Lights Come On
Juhstynn and Tanner, AKA the boys behind Beijing-based promoter Suanpan, man the decks for a night-long session at Zhao Dai this Friday. Expect house, techno, and disco cuts designed to help usher in the sights and sounds of spring. Price TBA. 10pm. Zhao Dai

THUVDR Presents: Social Practice
Party organizers THUVDR unveil the second volume of their latest project, Social Practice, a night designed to get friends of friends of friends out onto the dancefloor and connecting through common interests. Of course, it wouldn't be much of party without DJs and Tsunami, Luxixi, and Liia will be on hand to help bodies connect should talking fail. Free. 10pm doors. Dada

Loud Enough: Club Culture Between Berlin and Beijing
This isn't club night as such, as things get cerebral over at Goethe-Institut with a discussion about the role of clubs in affecting social change, as an open space for free expression. The evening is composed of four discussions will break down and compare the history of clubbing culture in Berlin and Beijing. In German and Chinese only. Free. 5-7pm. Goethe-Institut

Zaliva-D Forsaken at Dada
Beijing's king and queen purveyors of dark techno return to Dada for more of the same hard-hitting and challenging visuals and beats this Saturday. They'll be supported by Noise&Noise, Senders Chen, Simon Frank, and Joy Ginger. RMB 60. 10pm doors. Dada

Zuckermann
Co-founder of Berlin's Lebensfreude Records, Zuckermann splits his time between the German capital, Hong Kong, and now Beijing, "mixing up a kaleidoscope of improvisational sounds including jazz, classical and 20th-century modernism. Support comes from HWA (Elvis T.), Juliana Lima, Zhang Jie, Kimo, and Jackson Lee. RMB 50. 10.30pm doors. Lantern

TechNOrules
Aida of TechNOrules returns to Aurora, this time inviting PENG label’s up-and-coming DJ Sunk and Get Connected label boss Juliana Lima. The former credits post-rock as a major influence, working that genre's delicate textures into her house, tech house, and minimal techno sets. Free. 10pm. Aurora
