EAT: Your bite-sized guide to the best eats to be had in Beijing this week.

Brunch Italian-Style at Bottega

Bottega's Xinyuanli branch has a new brunch packed with both Italian classics and brunch twists on Italian dishes. We headed over to try it recently and two of our favorite dishes were the frittata rustica, which packs in spaghetti, cheese, and potatoes for a truly hangover-busting dish, and the cannelloni, which is one of the best (and richest) versions we have tried in Beijing. If you're in the mood for a boozy brunch, there's an option to add RMB 188 for free-flow Prosseco, wine, and spritzes (Bottega serves one of our favorite spritzes in Beijing, perfectly classic and refreshing).

Apr 13: Drag Brunch: Spring Edition at Beersmith

Beijing's third installment of the original Drag Brunch returns and this time will have an Easter bunny twist at Hotel Jen's Beersmith. The event will once again be hosted by drag queens Ms. Anna Summers and Ms. Billie B (who only both come out for charity). Priced at RMB 300 per person, you'll get a two-hour buffet brunch and unlimited drinks plus plenty of entertainment. The brunch includes breakfast egg variations, a ceviche taco station, a carving station with roast beef and all the trimmings, and banana splits for dessert. Scan the QR code in the poster above for more information and to buy tickets.

The Bake Shop Launches a Mini-Program Shop

Purveyors of tasty bagels and sourdough The Bake Shop have launched a new mini-program, making it even easier to order their freshly baked goods. The shop is online from 9am-4pm, during which time orders will be sent out as and when they’re ready, while orders placed outside of this time will be sent out the next day. You can also place pre-orders for Saturday pick up/delivery from Monday-Thursday. Link to the mini-program in this post

Specializing in the cuisines of southern Chinese provinces such as Sichuan, Yunnan, and Guizhou, Sifang Sanchuan's new items include dishes such as braised seafood with fresh Sichuan pepper, twice-cooked turbot, and diced beef with green chilies and basil.
