Have a Scarily Delicious Halloween at Oh Yeah! Brewing

As the voting for the 2019 Pizza Cup heats up, we're taking a closer look at some of the competitors in the running for this year's title. This time it's popular new brewery, Oh Yeah!

When it comes to food and drink pairings, for us, it doesn't get much better than pizza and beer. But we're not talking cheap lager and a cheesy chain-store pie. No, we're talking house-brewed beer and high-quality pizzas cooked in brick ovens, a combination that can be found more and more often in Beijing these days. And that's exactly what you can expect to get at Oh Yeah! Brewing.

Opening back in early summer 2019, Oh Yeah! boasts a prime location just southeast of the Guomao Flyover. The huge brewpub has space for more than 250 people both inside and out, including a brighter and more lunch-appropriate seating area at the front and a lively German beer hall-style arrangement that forms the body of the venue. The latter is dominated by a two-story open brewery, which really hammers home their commitment to placing beer (and the drinking thereof) at the core of their brand.

Oh Yeah!'s wood-fired pizzas are turned out by an oven that wouldn’t look out of place in a top-end Italian restaurant. Said oven produces pizzas that are crisp on the bottom and puffy and risen on the top – a great base for classic topping combinations like Parma ham and arugula. However, Oh Yeah! don't let that stop them from experimenting, producing creative pizzas like the windmill pizza (pictured below), which tastes as good as it looks. Altogether, they have around 20 different types of pizza on the menu, including an option to create your own from a variety of toppings.

With Halloween rapidly approaching, Oh Yeah! are embracing the festive spirit, throwing a Halloween Carnival on the night of Oct 31. Come in costume and you will not only get a free small beer, but you'll also be entered into a lucky draw to win prizes such as a RMB 500 voucher and two boxes of beer. Expect live music and DJ performances on the night.

Oh Yeah! have also created a series of spooky Halloween dishes (pictured in lead blog image), which are available to order as set menus priced at RMB 198 per person or RMB 298 for two people. Their pizza even makes an appearance in the shape of a Devilish six-fingered hand, which should give you the cheesy Halloween photo-op you've been looking for. Wash it all down with one of their Halloween-inspired drinks, including the limited-edition Devil's Cauldron, a porter brewed with roast pumpkin, ginger, and jalapeño and habanero chilies for a spicy kick.

Scan the QR below to get a free pint of the chili pumpkin porter on Halloween (stocks of the Halloween beer are limited, voucher can be exchanged for another beer from Oh Yeah!'s menu).
