Just as hoards of superheroes who will flood the event must struggle with difficult questions regarding the nature of good and evil, so too must voters make a subjective decision about what makes a burger the Best Burger in Beijing. Nevertheless, we searched high and low to find those burgers that stand out from the rest, and generally exist in a league all their own – all based on objective criteria.

Biggest Burger — Chicken Burger from Chicken & Burger

Test your stomach with Chicken & Burger's eponymous menu item. Despite chicken being regarded as a healthier burger option, as opposed to say, greasy beef, this titan stretches more than 20 centimeters in diameter and basically Hulk-smashes any other burger that purports to be “big” or “giant.” Even the most ambitious diner is going to need a good amount of time to devour this blue whale of a burger. And at a measly RMB 98, it's a pretty fair price considering the size.

Most Expensive Burger — Blackmore Burger from Char Bar & Grill

Who said burgers need to be the exclusive domain of late-night pub grub? The Blackmore Burger at Char Bar & Grill – located inside the Intercontinental Hotel Sanlitun – makes burgers chic again. At RMB 298, the Blackmore Burger begs to be cut in half, revealing sophisticated layers of marbled meat within. Aside from its high-quality beef, the hefty slab of foie gras crowning this incredible burger is the real money maker – or spender.

Tallest Burger — Manhattan Monster Burger from KATCHUP

Admittedly, the Manhattan Monster Burger may not be the most thoughtful design for folks who enjoy getting their entire mouth around their meal, but given that it's named for a city with a sincere admiration for all things skyscraper, the Manhattan Monster Burger doubtlessly lives up to its name. Brought to you by the folks at Jiaodaokou's famed burger stop, Katchup, this burger is a testament to genius engineering and construction.

Cheesiest Burger — Waterfall Cheese Burger at Let’s Burger Plus

If the bun and patty make up the body of a burger then the cheese is definitely its soul. And to be sure, different kinds of cheese bestow the burger with different personalities. Apparently, however, some people prefer their burgers to have a big personality, and if you are one of them, then you'll find your soulmate in the Waterfall Cheese Burger at Let's Burger Plus. Whereas most other burgers and burger joints treat the cheese like a supporting actor, the Waterfall Cheese Burger at Let’s Burger Plus gives it a starring role. Though some may think that using a knife and fork to eat a burger is blasphemous, we'd wager to bet they'd give you a pass on this one.
