City Parks Receive Over 3 Million Visitors During Festival Holiday:

Around 3.18 million people visited parks in Beijing during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, an increase of about 56 percent from the same period last year, according to the Beijing Municipal Forestry and Parks Bureau.

Xinhua News Agency reported that a total of 59 cultural events were held both online and offline. These included moon-gazing activities, flower exhibitions, cultural performances and family-friendly activities.

Christian Louboutin Wins Unfair Competition Case in Beijing IP Court

On Sep 9, the Beijing IP Court announced that Christian Louboutin had won its lawsuit against Guangdong Wanlima Industrial Co. Ltd in an unfair competition case involving red-soled shoes, according to the National Law Review. The court ruled that Wanlima’s use of red sole designs and its mention of the term "red-sole shoes" in its product descriptions have a high similarity to Louboutin’s, therefore violating the anti-unfair competition law. According to the ruling, Wanlima was immediately ordered to stop selling red-soled shoes and needed to pay Louboutin RMB 5 million penalty in damages.

Chongqing Hotpot Chain Opens Store in Beijing

Beijing welcomed its first Chongqing-style hotpot restaurant chain, Song Hotpot Factory, in September.

The restaurant features industrial-style decoration and hip-hop music, aiming to attract young customers. In addition, there are also two pop-up dance performances each night. Some signature dishes of the restaurant include the beef tallow soup base, which is made with Australian Wagyu beef and sliced beef.

Global Netizens Encouraged to Take Part in Beijing Video Contest: 

The third video contest on 100 Reasons to Love Beijing was launched in September. The competition, hosted by the Information Office of Beijing Municipality, aims to let people share their own experiences of living in Beijing. In its first two years, the contest received about 5,000 short videos and got submissions from more than 3,000 international contestants, according to Xu Hejian, director of the Information Office of Beijing Municipality. Anyone who wants to participate can email their video to lovebeijing2022@163.com, or post their video on Weibo with the hashtag "100 Reasons To Love Beijing ".
