Chi Fan For Charity’s 2022 Event Set for Nov 12, Save the Date!

After finally being able to have their long awaited 2021 after party, earlier this month, Chi Fan For Charity (CFFC) have now announced this year’s event will take place on Saturday Nov 12. Now in its 14th year, this annual gathering of foodies at restaurants around Beijing has raised over RMB 8 million over the years to help various charities across China.

Each year, typically, one charity is carefully selected to receive the charity fund. Last year’s recipient was the Dandelion School, for whom RMB 500,323 was raised. However, this year CFFC have decided to select three different charities to all be recipients of the charity fund. CFFC President Preston Thomas said they decided to choose three charities this year because, "This way we can have more of an impact as we plan on expanding CFFC to other cities, so we can make more of a difference."

The three chosen charities are Agape Family Life House, One School Education, and FROM OUR EYES. They were carefully selected by using the framework of “Sustainability, Expertise, Impact and Efficiency” by Philanthropy in Motion. The areas covered by the charities are child care, education, rural development, and environmental protection. Now, let’s find out more about each charity…

Agape Family Life House

Located in the city of Langfang, Hebei Province, Agape Family Life House is a foster home and care center for special needs orphans. The home currently houses 29 orphans and specializes in medical treatment and care for children with various disabilities. The aim of the home is to eventually find adoptive parents for the orphans or raise them into adulthood. They also have an onsite bakery called Bread of Life that helps the orphanage with finances and provides the orphans with life skills to support themselves in the future. One School Education

Established in 2008 and commercially registered in 2019, One School Education focuses on helping children through education. Based in Chengdu, they provide financial aid and education assistance to children in deprived, rural areas. FROM OUR EYES

Founded in 2015, FROM OUR EYES (full name Yunnan FROM OUR EYES Rural Documentary And Culture Research Centre), grew out of an environment protection program initiated by NGO Shan Shui Conservation Center in 2007. FOE is a platform that promotes videography as a means for cultural preservation and education for rural people. They aim to promote sustainable development of rural communities in western China.
