The Golden Week has arrived, and to keep you busy from Oct 1 to Oct 7, we’ve compiled daily lists of some of the most interesting events to be found around the capital for the holiday.


Golden Week Holiday Brunch at Zarah

Zarah is making their Sunday brunch special for the holiday. They’ll be offering up some special old Beijing specialties, including zhajiangmian, sautéed shredded pork in sweet bean sauce, shaobing breakfast buns, cooked hawthorn berries and their ever popular DIY jianbing.

Zarah’s Golden Week Holiday Brunch takes place Oct 2 from 10am-2pm. Price is RMB 228 for all-you-can-eat or RMB 358 for all-you-can-eat plus three hours free flow on selected drinks.


Traditional Celtic Music at Paddy O'Shea's

Traditional Irish tunes are back at Paddy's thanks to MOGA, a group of Irish and Chinese performers who will play a vareity of musical instruments throughout the night, including a few decidedly Irish instruments like the bodhrán.

Traditional Celtic Music with MOGA & Friends starts from 4pm this afternoon at Paddy O'Sheas. Entry is free.


Jazz Vocal Trio at Tango by Ala House

Tango by Ala House is bringing the jazz sounds of three skilled musicians for one night on Sunday. The vocals of Chinese singer Joan Shi join acclaimed French pianist Pierre Pradat and the double bass of Chinese musician ET.

This Jazz Vocal Trio will be performing at Tango by Ala House on Oct 2, from 9.30-11.30pm. For more info, add Ala House on WeChat by searching Ala_House.


Blues and Folk for Your Soul at Nugget

Head to nugget for a night of blues and folk, featuring Howlin Rotten Blues, Risteard D and Mr. Nick.

Blues and Folk for Your Soul is happening at nugget on Oct 2, from 9pm onwards. Tickets are RMB 90 and include one redeemable drink coupon.
