Busy Holiday: Stuff To Do Around Beijing Today, May 4
The fourth day of the Labor Day holiday brings with it the final day of Taco Fest, plus a few ideas for spending time southwest of the venue in the lakes district afterwards.
The Beijinger 2025 Taco Fest
It's the final day of Taco Fest, so if you don't want to miss out on feasting on a whole range of tacos, including some exclusive offerings, head to the National Tennis Center near Olympic Forest Park. This year we've got 25+ vendors, including special guest from Shanghai La Coyota, great entertainment, market stalls and more fun.

Houhai and Shichahai
Although it’ll probably be one of the more crowded spots this holiday – more crowded than normal, at least – a stroll around Houhai and Shichahai is perfect for spring. Besides the more tourist-focused knick-knack shops, there are plenty of cafés and spots to relax at and watch the water after exploring.
Slowboat Taproom Rooftop
One such spot is Slowboat Shichahai Taproom, which has recently opened their outdoor patio and rooftop for patrons. Grab a seat, some snacks, a burger, or their weekend brunch along with one of their fantastic beers and you’re all set to enjoy an afternoon overlooking the lakes district. Catch The Big Lebowski at Timekeepers
If you're down for a movie, then head back to the Gulou area and to Timekeepers, who will be screening the Coen Brothers' 1998 cult classic The Big Lebowski. They'll also have White Russians on special for RMB 40 all night, so be sure to grab your best tattered bathrobe, Pendleton Westerley sweater and shades and raise a toast for the Dude.
The Big Lebowski is screening on Sund, May 4, from 8pm at Timekeepers x Ball House. Entry is free.
