Circle Urban To Close Sanyuanqiao Branch, Move to ONSITEEE
Circle Urban recently announced that they will be closing their flagship store in Sanyuanqiao and relocating to ONSITEEE on Xinghuo Xilu from Jul 30. In the announcement, they thanked patrons for their support over the years and promised to continue bringing great memories from their new location.
Circle Urban is part of the Circle brand, which was founded by Yan Long back in 2013 when he opened up a café inside Renmin University. In 2022, the brand expanded outside of the university with Circle Urban opening its Sanyuanqiao branch in July of that year. When we visited shortly after it opened, we were impressed by the vintage decor and Long's exciting plans for the venue.
In the years since opening, they've become well-known in the capital, especially for their banging burgers, which earned them the #11 spot in this year's Juicy Burger Cup. They actually opened a dedicated burger branch called Circle Burger back in 2023, and then opened another Circle Urban branch in Haidian last year.
The relocation to ONSITEEE's Xinghuo Xilu branch builds on an already existing partnership, as a reduced version of Circle Urban's food menu has been running at the venue for a few months. Once Circle Urban officially moves to the spot, they will expand the menu to include more dishes from the Sanyuanqiao branch, adding some new items to the menu as well.
On the closure and relocation, we reached out to owner Long about what prompted the move, and he told us that the ONSITEEE location will allow them to serve more barbecue options and that it also gives them some scope for other expansion plans, which we'll be sure to bring you all the details of when we know more.
ONSITEEE is a camping-style bar and cafe with a few branches in Beijing. At their Xinghuo Xilu branch, they have a large outdoor gravel seating area out front complete with a bar and projector. There are then two separate indoor areas and another outdoor grassy seating area at the back. The venue is completely pet-friendly, so you can feel free to bring your fur baby along while you enjoy a few drinks and some food!
