2025 Mid-Year Recap: New Restaurants and Bars
As we head into the second half of the year, let's take a look back at some of the new restaurants and bars that opened up in Beijing in the first half of 2025.
TIAMO
Right at the beginning of the year, the space formerly occupied by Apollo in Sanlitun was taken over by TIAMO. An offshoot of OTIUM •柴屿麦, a bistro-style eatery situated by the Liangma River, TIAMO specializes in handmade pasta dishes.

Slider Nation WAB
After much anticipation in Beijing's burger community, Slider Nation officially opened a new branch by Western Academy of Beijing (WAB) in February. Here, you can get their usual selection of delicious sliders, along with other options like tacos and, on Sundays, a banging brunch menu.

Le Coq
The Le Coq group opened their first Beijing Le Coq Wine & Bistro store in Taikooli earlier this year. A Shanghai-based brand, they specialize in French fusion food, combining traditional French cooking techniques with modern flavors such as Asian sauces. Along with food, they've got an excellent wine selection, signature and classic cocktails, mocktails and other drinks.

One Thousand and One Nights
Following the closure of their original location near Tuanjiehu subway station, One Thousand and One Nights reopened at a new location inside the T+ Mall in Sanlitun. The new spot boasts a large space spread out across two separate dining areas. Foodwise, the menu remains largely the same as at their original location, with lots of BBQ and kebab options.

Gung Ho! Shuangjing
In March this year, Gung Ho! made a triumphant return to Shuangjing. Opening up inside the Space 3 Mall, which is also home to Q MEX's Shuangjing location. Here you can get their usual array of high-quality pizzas, pasta, salads and more.

Rabiul's Kitchen
Also opening in March was Rabiul's Kitchen, the fourth Dastaan branch in Beijing. Rabiul's Kitcen is located just across the road from the west side of the 798 Arts District, and like all of Dastaan's locations, they serve up high-quality, authentic Indian cuisine, with everything from classics to chef specials, street food and more.

CULTURE
Sanlitun SOHO got a new resident in the form of Pakistani restaurant CULTURE. Coming from the same team behind restaurant and bar Puff & Chill, CULTURE specializes in bringing the rich flavors and traditions of Pakistan's culinary delights to Beijing. They have everything from kebabs to biryanis, curries and sweets, all created with authentic spices and fresh ingredients.

Duli
Shanghai-based vegan bistro Duli opened their first Beijing branch back in April. It's located inside the new Friendship Store Complex, one street down from Side Street Jianguomen and Nola, just south of Ritan Park. Here, they serve up a range of their signature dishes like Mapo Tofu Hummus, Corn and Cauliflower Fritter With Bao and Tom Yum Wanton Soup.

a BAR of crayon
Another new spot that opened up in April was a BAR of crayon, a new cocktail bar created by former Union bar manager Harry Hua and his team in collaboration with bar Long Fong. The bar carries on the Union team’s modern cocktail style, while also expanding on Long Fong's use of lesser-known Chinese ingredients.

IBIZA the Oasis
This pool club brings the vibes of its namesake Ibiza with a sandy beach area, stunning large outdoor pool, beach bar and DJ booth. They've got a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available, along with bar snacks and shisha. They host regular pool parties during summer, and you can keep up-to-date with them by following their official WeChat account: “IBIZA the Oasis”.

WAWABEER
WAWABEER opened a full-fledged dine-in spot, a great upgrade from their previous takeout window. Located in Tuanjie Xinli, the same complex that houses Golden Dog, they've got ten different burgers on the menu plus new additions like tacos, a sausage platter and other snacks as well as eight of their signature beers and four kombuchas on tap.

Peiping Machine Friendship Store Complex
Another new spot that opened in the Friendship Store Complex was another branch of Beijing brewery Peiping Machine. Their ninth branch in the capital, here you can get Peiping Machine's usual array of great brews and delicious bites, such as their famous Beijing Roast Duck Jianbing (RMB 58).

Q MEX Wukesong
Q MEX opened up a new branch in the Wukesong complex, its fifth branch in Beijing. The opening also coincided with a complete menu revamp. Situated opposite IKEA, the new location sports a large terrace area complete with a pool table, and the space inside is large and also has a private room suitable for 10-12 guests. This branch has two dishes that are exclusive to the location: Charcoal-Grilled Chicken and Beef Ribs. Both dishes are only available on the weekend and need to be ordered one day in advance.

Tangled
Tangled, a sister bar of Dongsi-based wine bistro uh-huh, opened up not too long ago near Beixinqiao. Here, they specialize in handmade pasta and, in their own words, bringing “good carbs, good drinks and good vibes” to the neighborhood. To go with the food, they have a range of wines, beers and a carefully crafted cocktail menu.

Triple B 3B
Triple B 3B relocated to MIX Island, a definite improvement over their previous hole-in-the-wall-style location in the CBD. The menu has stayed largely the same, with a range of burgers, sandwiches and brunch offerings. They've also got milkshakes, coffees, tea, craft beer, wine and soft drinks to sip on.

NASI AH MA in Sanlitun
MULU opended up NASI AH MA around a month ago in Xingfucun, just around the corner from Jing-A. The cozy new spot is a Malaysian nasi campur concept where you get rice with an array of sides and your choice of dish from the counter. They also have pre-selected meal combinations available as well as non-nasi dish like Sarawak Laksa Kway Teow (RMB 48) or Beef Ball Kway Teow Soup (RMB 48).

PIGNUT BARBECUE
PIGNUT BARBECUE recently opened up by WAB, bringing authentic Texas barbecue to the strip. They have classic offerings like pulled pork, beef brisket and spare ribs, along with a range of burgers, tacos, appetizers and sides.

WITH
A new bar called WITH, short for With Listening Bar, has recently opened up in the 798 Arts District. It's a craft cocktail bar that has a focus on music, complete with DJ decks where they will regularly have live performances. Aside from cocktails, they've also got beers, wine, coffee and soft drinks.
