Juicy Burger Cup 2025: Beijing's Top 16 Burgers
Following Friday's announcement that Side Street is the 2025 Juicy Burger Cup Champion, we’re taking a deep dive into our 2025 Top 16 Burgers.
This year, first the masses voted to determine which eatery would enter the Sweet 16, and this list was then passed on to a panel of experts for ranking from 1 to 16. In our breakdown of each burger spot in Beijing, we’ve included some quotes from our panelists. You can read more about the panelists themselves here.
If you haven't been to all 16 spots, it's time to get a move on and fill in those gaps in your burger-eating resume!

#16 Benlo's Burger本楼汉堡
Coming in at number 16 is Benlo's Burger. They pride themselves on blending traditional Chinese cooking techniques with Western burger culture. They also serve some of the most reasonably priced burgers on this list. Some burgers to watch out for are the Benlo Smash Burger (RMB 32), the Benlo Chicken and Beef Smash Burger (RMB 39) and the Benlo Spicy Chicken Sandwich (RMB 25, pictured). The latter of these features fresh chicken thigh stewed using a traditional Chinese technique then covered in a delicate batter and fried until perfectly crispy on the outside but still juicy on the inside.

#15 Wake&Bite
A rising star in Beijing's burger scene, Wangjing-based bistro Wake & Bite specializes in high-quality breakfast burgers, which are available all day long. Their burgers showcase thoughtful craftsmanship, from the unique pretzel buns to masterfully grilled patties. The standout burger has to be the Signature Sher Wagyu Homemade Scrambled Eggs Cheese Pretzel Burger (RMB 68). It combines an Australian Sher Wagyu beef patty with caramelized onions, Cheddar cheese, black truffle paste and their freshly made scrambled eggs, all sandwiched inside a pretzel bun.

#14 WAGYU KAIJU和牛怪物汉堡
Winner of this year's Best New Burger, WAGYU KAIJU delivers a premium burger experience that highlights the exceptional quality of Australian Wagyu beef, all for a low cost. A particular favorite of ours is The Lidless Eye Wagyu Burger (RMB 48), which is inspired by Sauron, the Lidless Eye from The Lord of the Rings, and sees an Australian M5+ Wagyu beef patty topped with a fried egg, bourbon onion sauce and secret teriyaki sauce.

#13 OVERTONE弦外之音
Winners of last year's Best New Burger, OVERTONE is a craft brewery hailing from Scotland. They opened up in Beixinqiao in early 2024 and now have a second location near the Bird's Nest Stadium. Their great brews and banging burgers are slowly gaining them traction in Beijing's burger scene. You can't go wrong with their Overtone Classic Beef Burger (RMB 68) paired with one of their signature beers.

#12 blue frog 蓝蛙
The winner of our first ever Juicy Burger Cup back in 2012, blue frog has managed to maintain its status since then as one of the most consistently good burger spots in Beijing. Their burgers are big, featuring a medium rare beef patty with a variety of choices piled on top, like their Mile High Beef Burger (RMB 108), which features double patties, bacon, garlic mayo, cheddar cheese, and secret onion and bacon sauce.

#11 Circle Urban 圆场
Circle Urban now has multiple branches in Beijing, and the brand's high-quality burgers have slowly been earning them some much-deserved respect in the capital. A personal favorite of ours is the Smoked Flavor Half Pound Burger (RMB 78). A beef patty is stuffed with cheddar and mozzarella cheese then topped with caramelized onions and sandwiched inside a golden bun. At this year's Juicy Burger Fest, they created the limited edition AOBAO•Crisp Beef Onion Burger, a special MILKGROUND-collab that sees an Angus beef patty paired with cheddar cheese, caramelized onions and a secret sauce, all nestled in an ultra-crispy bun. #10 Beersmith Gastropub 鲜啤吧
Located right under Hotel Jen in the CBD, Beersmith Gastropub has become a staple of the craft brew and burger community in Beijing. They've consistently impressed with perfectly cooked patties and creative toppings that reinvent the burger experience. At the fest they debuted their brand new Immortal Blue Cheese Burger, which piles blue cheese, honey mayo and pickled onions on a beef patty for one honking burger. For those who aren't blue cheese fans they've got some classic offerings like the Beersmith Cheese Burger (RMB 98) and BBQ Bacon Burger (RMB 108).

#9 Great Leap Brewing 大跃啤酒
A Beijing institution known for its classic American-style burgers and craft beers. Their Double Cheeseburger (RMB 78) remains a standout, with two smashed Australian Angus beef patties, melted cheddar cheese, pickles, fancy sauce and mayo all sandwiched inside a soft, sesame bun. It also comes served with a generous portion of beautifully crispy fries.

#8 DOSH GASTROPUB 到时精酿餐吧
Last year's surprise Juicy Burger Cup second-place winner, DOSH is a creative force in Beijing's burger scene. A fan favorite is the Maryland Crab Cake Burger (RMB 98), which takes a traditional Maryland crab cake and pairs it with mascarpone sauce and tartar sauce, all inside a soft burger bun. Another is the Parma Ham Burger (RMB 78), which sees smoky, salty Parma ham layered atop a wet-aged beef patty with melted cheese and a special handcrafted sauce inside a fluffy brioche bun. At the recent Juicy Burger Fest, they partnered with MILKGROUND to take these burgers to the next level, and the special collab burgers are still available at their Haidian branch until Jun 18.

With multiple locations across Beijing, it’s safe to say that Jing-A has been doing pretty well over the past few years, and great burgers paired with their refreshing brews are definitely one of the reasons why. At this year's Juicy Burger Fest, they debuted the new Yunnan-Guizhou Sour Soup Flavor Wagyu Burger (RMB 88), which pairs a 200g thick-cut Australian Angus Wagyu beef patty with a homemade sour soup mayonnaise then tops it with beer-battered fish mint root, fresh mint and buffalo mozzarella. If you're into more classic burgers, then you can't go wrong with their Stout Bacon Cheeseburger (RMB 88), which sees an Australian beef patty layered with bacon, mayo, red onion, cheese and special Black Velvet stout syrup.

Burge’s burgers continue to impress fans across the capital, not only for their great quality but also for their price! A top pick is their signature Burge’s Beef Burger (RMB 49), a beef patty paired with buffalo cheese, secret recipe onions, and Italian black vinegar mayonnaise, all sandwiched inside a brioche bun. At the fest they're becoming known for super creative innovations, with this year seeing them create two SpongeBob-themed burgers: the Krabby Patty and the SpongeBob.

Maintaining fourth place for the second year in a row, Wild Kite impresses with its focus on quality ingredients and thoughtful flavor combinations. At the fest they launched the new Grilled Chili Kimchi Burger (RMB 78), which features a thick handmade beef patty paired with tangy, spicy kimchi, melty cheese and a special sauce. Other fan favorites are the Classic Wagyu Burger (RMB 68), an Australian Wagyu beef patty topped with onion, lime cucumber sauce and cheese; and the Beef and Egg Burger With Pepper Sauce (RMB 78), which combines a handmade beef patty with Chinese-style poached eggs and a spicy Sichuan peppercorn sauce.

Winner of the Juicy Burger Cup in 2017 and 2023, Q MEX continues to pursue the creation of great burgers. Creations like the Truffle and Parma Ham Burger (RMB 88) balance premium ingredients with hearty portions, all at reasonable prices. While better-known for tacos and other Mexican dishes, their burger program – refined by chef Marcus Medina's NYC/LA experience, delivers consistent quality that rivals dedicated burger joints.

Six-time Juicy Burger Cup Champions Slowboat narrowly missed out on a seventh victory this year, coming in at a close second place. Their signature burgers, like the Fryburger (RMB 69) and Lao Thai Thai (RMB 75), which features peanut butter and pineapple, continue to impress with their mastery of balancing rich, umami flavors with bright accents.
For the fest, they created the Truffle Trouble Double Smash Lace Burger, which sees a double-smashed imported beef patty layered with two slices of melty American cheese, black truffle aioli and crisp house-made pickles, all piled on to a freshly baked brioche bun. If you didn't get the chance to try it at the fest, it's currently available at all their branches until the end of this month as part of their Seasonal Burger series. This year's Juicy Burger Fest Champion, taking their third victory overall, Side Street has become one of the city’s burger heavyweights over the years, with numerous creative offerings including not only meaty options but three distinct meat-free options.
At the Juicy Burger fest, they debuted two new burgers. The first is The Fish King, a crispy, deep-fried marinated fish fillet stacked with sweet potato fries, fresh tomato sauce, and their signature tartar sauce. The other is the Captain Chili, a juicy beef patty loaded with hearty beef chili, deep-fried jalapeños, and sharp cheddar and absolutely drenched in cheese sauce. As of yesterday (Jun 8), they've now added both of these burgers to their menu, meaning they now have a whopping total of 19 burgers to choose from!
“Some of the best burgers I've ever had in my entire life, and I bet that some of them could even rival top burger restaurants around the world. Every single one of their burgers is packed with flavor, expertly crafted, and only the slightest bit greasy. Side Street continues to be a pillar of the Beijing food and beverage community and is constantly adapting to the ever-expanding needs of its patrons.
