Subway Station Service Disruptions Tomorrow (Aug 9)

Tomorrow, Aug 9, beginning at 6pm, select stations on a handful of subway lines will adopt entrance/exit closure measures and service stoppage to ensure the safety and smooth operation of a “special event.” Transfer stations in the affected sections of the subway lines in question will also temporarily disallow transferring. This information comes in a notice from the Beijing Traffic Management Bureau of the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau.

Saturday (Aug 9) Subway Exit and Station Closures

Select stations on lines 1/Batong, 2, 5 and 8 are affected. The information below is for whole-station closures unless otherwise noted.

Line 1/Batong

  • 传媒大学 Communication University of China: 8.20pm-9.10pm
  • 建国门 Jianguomen: 
    • Exits A and C: 6pm until the scheduled departure of the last train
    • Station: 9pm-9.40pm
  • 东单 Dongdan: 6pm until the scheduled departure of the last train
  • 王府井 Wangfujing: 6pm until the scheduled departure of the last train
  • 天安门东 Tian’anmen East: 6pm until the end of the event
  • 天安门西 Tian’anmen West: 6pm until the end of the event

Line 2

  • 建国门 Jianguomen: 
    • Exits A and C: 6pm until the scheduled departure of the last train
    • Station: 9pm-9.40pm
  • 北京站 Beijing Railway Station: 
    • Exits A and B: 7pm until the scheduled departure of the last train
  • 崇文门 Chongwenmen: 7pm until the scheduled departure of the last train
  • 前门 Qianmen: 
    • Exit A: 6pm until the end of the event
    • Station: 6pm until the scheduled departure of the last train
  • 和平门 Hepingmen: 7pm until the scheduled departure of the last train
  • 宣武门 Xuanwumen: 
    • Exits B and C: 9pm until the scheduled departure of the last train
    • Station: 9pm until the scheduled departure of the last train

Line 5

  • 东单 Dongdan: 6pm until the scheduled departure of the last train
  • 崇文门 Chongwenmen: 7pm until the scheduled departure of the last train

Line 8

  • 金鱼胡同 Jinyu Hutong: 7pm until the scheduled departure of the last train
  • 王府井 Wangfujing: 6pm until the scheduled departure of the last train
  • 前门 Qianmen: 
    • Exit A: 6pm until the end of the event
    • Station: 6pm until the scheduled departure of the last train
