Subway Station Service Disruptions for Parade Preparations

As preparations continue for September’s victory parade and commemorative activities, another round of transportation disruptions is upon us. These include changes to road traffic adjustments in some areas, bus service changes, and more subway station closures.

Beginning today, Aug 23, at 2pm and lasting until tomorrow, Aug 24, at 7.30am, a number of subway stations will adopt entrance/exit closure measures and service stoppage. As with the previous disruption, transfer stations in the affected sections of the specific subway lines will also temporarily disallow transferring. Timings of closures for different subway stations will vary, so refer to the lists below for more detailed information.

Saturday (Aug 23) and Sunday (Aug 24) Subway Exit and Station Closures

Select stations on lines 1/Batong, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 14 and 19, as well as the Changping Line are affected. The information below is for station closure unless otherwise noted.

  • 传媒大学 Communication University of China: Aug 23, 6pm-9.15pm
  • 四惠 Sihui: Aug 23 – 6pm-9.25pm
  • 大望路 Dawanglu: Aug 23 – 4.50pm until the scheduled departure of the last train
  • 国贸 Guomao: Aug 23 – 4pm until the scheduled departure of the last train
  • 永安里 Yong’anli: Aug 23 – 4pm until the scheduled departure of the last train
  • 建国门 Jianguomen: Aug 23 – 4pm until the scheduled departure of the last train

City Parks Adjusted Schedules

Transportation is not the only aspect of Beijing life seeing disruption this weekend. A number of the city’s parks have announced schedule adjustments for various reasons today and tomorrow. Below is an incomplete list; for more information, be sure to check directly with the park you wish to visit.

  • 中山公园 Zhongshan Park

Zhongshan Park will cease ticket sales and admission at 11.30am on Sat, Aug 23, and will close at 2pm. The park will reopen normally on Sun, Aug 24. Refunds may be processed independently through the original ticketing channel.

Beihai Park will cease ticket sales and admission at noon on Sat, Aug 23, and will close at 2pm. The park will open normally on Sun, Aug 24. Refunds may be processed independently through the original ticketing channel.

Taoranting Park will be closed on the morning of Sun, Aug 24, and will reopen at noon. Refunds may be processed independently from the original ticketing channel.

  • 玉渊潭公园 Yuyuantan Park

  • 天坛公园 Temple of Heaven Park – East Gate Parking Lot & East Gates

The parking lot at the East Gate of Temple of Heaven Park will be closed all day on Sat, Augu 23. The area from the East Gate to East Gate 2 will be closed from noon on the same day. Visitors are directed to enter and exit through the South Gate, West Gate and North Gate.

The East Gate parking lot and area from the East Gate to East Gate 2 will resume normal operation on Sun, Aug 24.
