Popeyes Grand Opening Apr 10, Chili's Solana Opening Early May
Beijing's F&B scene is heating up as major US chains continue to make moves in the capital. With Popeyes having the official grand opening of its Wangfujing branch this Friday (Apr 10) and Chili's gearing up to debut its second location in Solana next month, fans of American comfort food have plenty to look forward to.
Popeyes Grand Opening This Friday
Popeyes Wangfujing quietly kicked off a soft opening yesterday, offering an early preview ahead of the official launch. The restaurant will be closed tomorrow for final preparations, before celebrating its grand opening this Friday (Apr 10) from 10am.
Located in The Malls at Oriental Plaza, this marks Popeyes' first return to the capital after over 20 years. To celebrate the grand opening, Popeyes is offering a range of exclusive deals. On Apr 10, they will be giving out a "gold gift" worth RMB 2,500 to the first person in line. The first 100 people in line will receive a free Classic Chicken Sandwich and one person within the top two to 100 people in line will randomly be awarded another "gold gift" worth RMB 2,500.
From Apr 10 to 14, customers can enjoy a 23 percent discount on all menu items. When making any purchase during this period, customers will also receive five chances at a claw machine and one turn on a gachapon machine, with an array of great prizes available in both.
The Wangfujing store seems to only be a first step in Popeyes expansion into the capital, with listings on Dianping appearing for a branch in Zhongguancun and Fanyuanli IDMALL, however both of these are yet to be officially confirmed by Popeyes.

Chili's Solana Branch to Open in Early May
Chili's has recently announced that they will be opening their Soalana branch in early May. Their second branch in the capital, the Solana location, will span two floors and will feature Chili's signature Tex-Mex décor with warming hues and neon accents. Chili's has yet to specify an exact opening date for the branch, however they have launched a special promotion to get fans pumped ahead of the opening.
From now until Apr 20, Chili's is launching a check-in campaign, where you simply need to take a photo or video in front of the Solana store hoarding, post it on Xiaohongshu with the hashtag #ChilisBeijingSolana and then show the post at their Zhongguancun store to receive a FREE Presidente Margarita or Molten Chocolate Lava Cake.
Chili's has promised more surprises for the Solana grand opening week across both branches and has also announced that on the grand opening day, the Solana branch will feature a live traditional Mexican band performing tableside.
