Daxing Airport to Get First Direct Route to Lisbon
Beginning on Jun 22, there will once-weekly direct flights between Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX) and Lisbon International Airport (LIS) in Lisbon, Portugal. The route will be operated by Beijing Capital Airlines, a budget subsidiary of Hainan Airlines based at Daxing Airport. Flights on this route will leave Beijing on Monday at around 10.55am, with an expected journey time of just under 13 and a half hours. The route will be Daxing Airport’s first direct route to Lisbon.
City Launches Pilot Service for Bikes on Subway
Beijing launched a pilot service earlier this month aimed at passengers who wish to bring their bicycles with them on the subway. The weekend service has been rolled out at a handful of subway stations on four subway lines chosen for their connection to popular cycling routes in the city, generally low rail passenger traffic levels, and possession of adequate facilities for accommodating passengers with bikes.

Service Time
The bicycle service will be in effect on weekends as a full-day service. The service is currently not available on weekdays or during statutory holidays.
Fare and Ticket Purchasing
Those who wish to make use of the pilot service must purchase tickets on the Yitongxing 亿通行 app. A single ticket is RMB 30 and grants entry to one person with one bike. Passengers can also purchase tickets to be used within 30 days (inclusive) from the time of purchase. Unused tickets can be refunded, and tickets that are not used within the 30-day time period will have the purchase price automatically refunded via the original payment method.
Bicycle Requirements
Only two-wheeled, single-seat, completely human-powered bicycles with wheels of a diameter not exceeding 28 inches (71cm) are allowed. The bikes must also be in good condition, with no sharp parts or components that stick out, and they must be clean and free from dirt, oil, etc.
Safety and Riding the Subway
Both passengers and bicycles must go through security checks upon entering the subway station.
Passengers must use the special station-provided stretchy bike cover to cover their bikes, and they must keep their bikes wrapped up at all times they and their bike are within the subway station payment area and on the subway train. The bike cover must be returned to the station upon exiting the destination station.
Passengers with bikes should transport their bikes via elevators or stairs in subway stations, and should avoid taking their bikes on the escalators.
Bike-riding is prohibited in stations and while inside the subway car, and bikes must be kept out of the way and monitored during the whole of the subway ride.
Passengers must enter and exit according to their ticket and the participating stations in the pilot program. Passengers may not change their routes or enter or exit from non-participating stations.
