Talking Pints: A Foam Party at Kokomo, and Day Drinking at Migas

Dario G - Sunchyme. Because, why not?

So Karl Long is history, and yes, yes that's very sad, especially for fans of his award-winning Wednesday night quizzes at Paddy O'Shea's. But this means that his crown as King of the Quiz is up for grabs. Stop by and see one particular pretender to the throne at The Bookworm tonight (Aug 23) when Tom Champagne hosts his weekly quiz for Sanlitun's book-bothering, clever-clogs crowd.

Kokomo is hosting a foam party this Saturday night (Aug 24). Ahh, that reminds me of my youth, and holidays to Mallorca as a teen with the world at my feet. Wonderful times. Magalluf 2000 – climb on. Anyway, head along and see how the Sanlitun version sizes up. Note: wear clothes, and shoes, that you won't mind having to throw away on Sunday morning.

Let's hope today's weather holds up for a day of drinking tomorrow. You can make a start at The Bar at Migas where 京A presents Daylighting at Migas. They're promising "a pretty epic combination of beats, beer, and BBQ" and will have five of their beers on tap, including their new small-batch Big Slice Watermelon Wheat.

The Slow Boat Brewery Taproom has finished soundproofing the Dongsi Batiao joint, so you can make as much noise as you please when you head along for Oreos, Funnel Cake, Corn Dogs and a Masskrugstemmen contest at their Batiao State Fair from today until Sunday.

More highlights:

  • Skwee pioneers Limonious and Daniel Savio will be at Dada tonight (Aug 23).
  • Migas hosts another edition of Funk Fever tonight also.
  • The Stumble Inn celebrates its third birthday tomorrow with a Stumble into the Jungle party.
  • Haze Out #3 is tomorrow, too. Head on out to Tianjin with the Haze crew and their disciples for a nostalgic party.

Plenty more to look forward to, just check our events section.

Have a very, very good weekend.
