Line 1 Subway Development

From Feb 15, Gucheng and Babaoshan stations on the western end of Line 1 will be temporarily closed in order to facilitate the construction of the Line 1 branch line.
The closure is expected to last until May 30, 2026. During the closure period, Yuquanlu station will serve as the western terminus of Line 1. After the construction work is completed and the closed stations reopen, Pingguoyuan station, which has been undergoing renovations, will also reopen, from which time it will serve as an interchange station for lines 1, 6 and S1.
The Line 1 branch will serve Shijingshan and Fengtai districts and will connect with Line 1 at Bajiao Amusement Park station. The Line 1 branch is expected to be operational in June 2027. Bajiao Amusement Park station is expected to open on May 3, 2027.
City officials have also arranged for bus transportation adjustments during the time Gucheng and Babaoshan stations are closed, allowing commuters and other passengers from surrounding communities to transfer via bus lines along the subway’s normal route to Line 1 at Yuquanlu station. Bus lines 76, 337 and 373 will see increased transport capacity. Additionally, bus lines 527 and 597 will see increased transport capacity to aid passengers in connecting to Line 6.
