Photos: Beijing Punk Festival at 2 Kolegas

Self-described “Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Gamer” Frank Yu (@FrankYu) came to Beijing in 2004 “for the duck” and “stayed for the chuan’r.” In addition to being co-founder and CEO of Kwestr, Beijing tech maven Frank is also an avid Instagrammer (follow him at mkultra00 – with two zeroes at the end) and co-organizer of the Instagramers Beijing group. Last weekend, Frank attended the Beijing Punk Festival at 2 Kolegas.

2 Kolegas offered their usual roasted meat and food stalls at their annual Beijing Punk Festival, but really, the event was all about the music.

Beijing's punk scene comes from all parts of China and Japan, with music ranging from old school punk, to the more recent Indy punk, to the more stylized Ska and Rockabilly. The highlight of the night was a performance from the Autocrats, a Ska/Skin/Punk band from Tokyo.
