Pizza My Mind: E-Commerce Guru and Pop Culture Nut Praises Hutong Pizza, Raves About The Tree

Ronnie Wu, who works at the Beijing branch of movie and events ticketing platform 247collective.com, has pretty eclectic pizza tastes. Below, the 29-year-old Anhui native tells us about gobbling up casual alleyway slices, more formerly Italian-style pies, and more.

"I'm generally a music lover, but I'm also a bit of a foodie and always like roaming around in the hutongs," he says. "Most of my pizza experiences have been at Hutong Pizza and The Tree. Back when I ran a little bar in Yinding Qiao Hutong with a friend we'd often order hutong pizza while sitting outside in the alleyway – it was always so relaxing and cheerful."

For an important business meeting where money is no object: La Pizza, Sanlitun
It's a good location with a wide range of pizza selections. They have some really good spicy pizza there, and the salads and other appetizers are also very tasty. The the service is good and the prices are fair, when money is no object of course [laughs].

For a pint out with the gang: The Tree
Pizza with beers is the best match, and here you can choose to have a decent Belgian beer with classic salami pizza and some snacks. It's a good place for a drink after work, and it's very quick and has good service.

When you feel like something different: Hutong Pizza
Those square-shaped pizza slices remind me of Beijing's city map. It also has a friendly atmosphere comprised of both tourists and locals. And it's easy to buy some CDs afterward at the nearby Rockland store, if music is what you looking for after your meal.

Still haven't voted in the 2016 Pizza Cup final between Annie's and Bottega? Well, what are you waiting for? You only have until Sunday to push your favorite pie through!
