For the first 2017 edition The Drop welcomes X&G, a duo that is re-defining experimental trap and have "ripped the monotony beneath our feet to leave us intoxicated with their unique coalition of deep bass, jungle, and hip-hop synths." All Night with Boflex
Back in the day, resident DJs in the best clubs played long sets. A long set often meant eight hours or longer, with the DJ having complete control of the arc of the night. “All Night” aims to go back to this standard of long sets and letting DJs have the time and freedom to take the party wherever they want. Price TBA. 10pm-late. UK Trap Pioneer Ozzie at Yugong Yishan
UK Trap pioneer Ozzie is only 22 years old, but is considered a pioneer of trap music and has toured around the world. He’s known for his innovative sampling and use of negative elements to amplify his bone-rattling bass. The artist is also one of the UK’s top trap producers. ShadowPlay Essential presents Peverelist and Kowton (pictured above)
Peverelist and Kowton form the backbone of Livity Sound, one of the most forward-thinking labels coming out of the UK in the last few years. The label (which takes its name from a Rastafarian word meaning, roughly, “life-force”) pushes forth a form of dance music that builds on a long tradition of pioneering dub music in Bristol, while establishing itself as one of the finest examples of bass music's recent embracement of house and techno. Support from Shackup.
