Learn – “Painting the Pure Mind” Talk by RASBJ, Jul 2

On Wednesday (Jul 2), RASBJ will be putting on “Painting the Pure Mind,” an in-person event at the Chongli Residence, where Peking University professor Michael Cavayero will explore how Chinese art and Buddhist traditions have shaped his painting practice. Cavayero will trace his journey from an early fascination with Chan painting to his decade of training at the China Academy of Art, and the event will also include an introduction to the historic venue by host Nancy Yang.
“Painting the Pure Mind” will take place on Jul 2 from 7pm to 8pm, with welcome drinks and canapés from 6.30pm at the Chongli Residence. Listen – Hagopián-Irigoyen-Arenas Tango Trio at DDC, Jul 3

Experience the soulful fusion of tango, poetry, and River Plate music with Uruguay’s Hagopián-Irigoyen-Arenas Tango Trio at DDC on Jul 3. Since 2017, the trio – Álvaro Hagopián, Gonzalo Irigoyen, and José Arenas – has redefined tango through piano, vocals and spoken word, crafting a unique repertoire that blends Uruguayan musical traditions with lyrical depth.
The Hagopián-Irigoyen-Arenas Tango Trio Catch will be performing at DDC at 8.30pm on Jul 3. Entry to the event is free, but you must pay RMB 100, which will be exchanged for a food/drink voucher of equal value to use at the venue. You can read more about the event here.

Sip – Langyuan Station Coffee Festival, Jul 4-6

If you're a coffee enthusiast, then you'll want to head to Langyuan Station next weekend (Jul 4-6) for their second ever Coffee Festival! Already home to 40 cafés, the festival will see a line up of over 120 stalls including 80 specialty coffee vendors and 40 coffee-themed food and drink vendors. Visitors can explore global flavors representing 33 countries and regions, enjoy professional activities like latte art competitions and Yunnan coffee cuppings, and participate in the exciting Coffee Walk Challenge – visit 25 participating cafes to claim a special gift. There will also be live music throughout the three days of the festival.
The Langyuan Station Coffee Festival will take place at Langyuan Station from 11am to 8pm, Jul 4-6. Tickets are RMB 9.9 (free for children under 1.2m accompanied by an adult) and can be bought by scanning the QR code below. You can read more about the festival here.
