This Week in Health and Fitness: Sign up for Sport Teams, Glo's Sexy Lady Camp, and Base Fit's New Promos

It's official: summer is on its way out. For many of us, that means no more holidays, no more alfresco brunching, no more drinks on the terrace after work. It also means no more distractions and no more excuses to skip the gym, and several fitness providers are capitalizing on this change of mood with new classes and promotions.

If team sports are your thing, then you'll want to get down to Paddy O'Shea's on Friday, September 8 for Sport Teams Sign-up Night. You'll be able to chat with members from and sign up for 11 different sports clubs, including football, rugby, running, hockey, and more (men's, women's, and co-ed teams available). Just a few of the teams who will be there on the night include Beijing Celtic FC, Beijing Aardvarks Rugby Club, and the Hash House Harriers

Ladies looking to build healthy habits before winter might want to check out Glo's new "Sexy Lady Camp." This new class series (held every Tuesday and Thursday at 10am) kicked off September 5 and is designed to be an effective way for women to see results, combining techniques such as gymnastics, weight lifting, cardio, and rowing with body weight exercises in order to build lean muscle, increase flexibility and blast fat. The classes are RMB 150 each or RMB 1,300 for a 10-class pass.

If you prefer a less gender-focused approach to fitness, Base Fit has recently introduced a new promotion with great value on their personal training classes. Base Fit are fond of saying that they "guarantee results," so to prove it, they are offering a 30-day personal training program, the total cost of which you only pay 50 percent of up front. If you achieve your goal by the end of the 30-day cycle, you will only be charged 25 percent of the remaining program fee. If for whatever reason, you don’t reach your goal, you will need to pay the remaining amount in full. In hard cash terms, the original price of a block of 10 PT classes is RMB 6,000. On the first day, you pay RMB 3,000 – if you reach your goal, you pay only RMB 1,500, otherwise, you'll have to cough up the remaining RMB 3,000.

Base Fit also has a bunch of other deals going on during fall, including referral bonuses, renewal bonuses for existing members (20 percent off), and a 10-class "early bird" pass (valid for classes before 1.30pm) for RMB 999. Follow Base Fit on WeChat at BaseFitChina for more information.
