Jing-A's New Thicker Than Water Brew and Bikini Party
Get ready to flaunt your tummy, no matter what the authorities say. In defiance of the reported crackdown in Shandong's capital of Jinan, Jing-A is putting on a Beijing Bikini Party at Chaoyang Park neighboring craft beer joint Foam Lab. They've set up the biggest outdoor pool they could find on Taobao. They'll also sell Jing-A Watermelon Wheat, Tuhao Gold Pils, and Worker’s Pale Ale for RMB 30 a glass. The Foam Lab team, meanwhile, will sell all-you-can-eat barbecue from 4-7pm. Meal coupons are RMB 99 presale, RMB 129 at the door.
DJ Count of Monte Disco will pump out yacht rock, disco, and '80s hits, while Jing-A coordinate their annual watermelon eating contest throughout the party, giving attendees a chance to win Jing-A swag like their Dongbei beach towel, Beijing Bikini T-shirt, or watermelon tote bag. From Friday, Jul 12 onward, Jing-A will also be pouring their new Thicker Than Water West Coast pale ale (5 percent ABV). Brewed with blood oranges (get the name now?), the citrusy beer is rounded out with caramel malts and Cascade and Mosaic hops.
Tavey Lean and Brewonly's Lakeside Live Show
Beloved Beijing band Tavey Lean and The Solid Gold Dream Machine will take to this stage at this outdoor event at Solana shopping center. Prior to the gig, attendees can cool off with provided water guns and in the venue's wading pool and receive free-flow Brewonly beer and house mixers for RMB 150. Gin & Tonic Tuesday at Slow Boat Taproom
Sure, Slow Boat is best known for its beers. But starting this Tuesday, Jul 16, their Dengshikou taproom (read our review here) will also tempt you with buy-one-get-one-free RMB 60 gin and tonics. Their new summery cocktails come in three varieties: a sweet and fruity strawberry and black pepper G&T, a roasted botanicals G&T, and the funky pink peppercorn and grapefruit G&T. Tuesdays. Speaking of places that are branching out, Caravan, long beloved for its Moroccan cuisine and range of rums, is slowly garnering new fans for its Wine Wednesday deals.
