Still Sizzlin': Hot & Spicy Fest Vendors Pt.2

Hot on the heels of yesterday's post looking at the first half of vendors at this year's Hot & Spicy Fest, we've got round two! We're continuing on our global spice adventure of 100+ dishes with even more spicy offerings from far and wide. 

In this second and final part, we've got everything from Venezuelan to Thai, Korean, Sichuanese, German, Mediterranean, Japanese and more!

SomeSome
SomeSome 东南亚小馆

Showcasing some Thai spice at the festival is SomeSome.

Menu Highlight(s):

  • Pad Kra Pao With Hand-Diced Angus Ribeye – a recreation of the iconic Thai street food dish, hand-diced premium Angus ribeye is wok-tossed with Thai basil and bird's eye chilies.
  • Lemon-Salted Plum-Pickled Guava – fresh guava is steeped in their homemade salted plum brine with lemon for a cooling and refreshing treat. 

Exclusive Dish(es):

  • Thai-Style Sour & Chili Squid – premium squid is lightly blanched and served with their homemade Thai-style sweet and chili sauce. Unlike other spicy dishes, it contains no MSG whatsoever, and no oil, making the dish a light, guilt-free delight.

Hi-Town Bistro
海塘Bistro

Fusion food specialists Hi-Town Bistro have crafted a number of dishes at the fest that feature Indian ghost chilies. 

Menu Highlight(s):

  • Ghost Pepper Beef Tripe – fresh tripe cooked in an explosive mala broth.
  • Pepper Sous Vide Beef Rib – a chilled delicacy perfect for the summer heat with tender beef rib and a punch of spice.

Exclusive Dish(es):

  • Spiced Lamb Kidney Burrito – making a special return for the fest, their signature lamb kidneys are paired with Mexican spices inside a tortilla.

Berlin Bites 
柏林百特

Berlin Bites will be taking some of their most popular dishes and turning things up a notch with extra spicy options for each of them at the fest as well as debuting a brand new dish. 

Menu Highlight(s):

  • Döner – Their most famous product. You can choose between chicken or beef, served with fresh veggies and your choice of sauce, with an extra spicy option just for the fest, all inside their signature bread.
  • Currywurst – deep-fried pork sausage topped with their secret currywurst sauce and dusted with your choice of curry powder ranging from non-spicy to almost lethally spicy, specially for the fest.

Exclusive Dish(es):

  • Spicy Loaded Fries – a new twist on loaded fries that they'll reveal at the fest.

Beersmith
鲜啤吧

Beersmith has crafted a range of dishes that blend spicy flavors from across China with bold, beer-friendly bar bites that are perfect for pairing with their craft brews. 

Menu Highlight(s):

  • Spicy Mint Pork Ribs – pork ribs are deep-fried with their specially crafted Hainan yellow lantern chili sauce, and then topped with crispy fried mint leaves for a combination that delivers an intense kick of spice with a refreshing aftertaste.
  • Spicy Beef Nachos – crunchy corn chips served with their secret house-made spicy fusion beef chili, which blends Chinese and Western flavors. 
  • Spicy Trotter Showdown 
  • Sweet Hits Spicy Chick

Drinks:

  • Mango Dragon Gose – juicy mango meets sweet-sour tang in this refreshing Gose, perfect for cutting through rich dishes.
  • Neon Seltzer – a colorful, low-ABV sparkling brew that's super refreshing and light-bodied with subtle fruit notes.

LA PLATEA
兰蒂

LA PLATEA will be showcasing some spicy flavors from across the Mediterranean at the fest. 

Menu Highlight(s):

  • Fries with Italian Spicy Ragu – golden crispy fries topped with a spicy Italian-style ragu seasoned with basil, oregano, chili and paprika.
  • Spicy Salami Mini Piadina – Italian flatbread topped with spicy salami.
  • Ajillo Shrimp Mini Piadina – Italian flatbread topped with shrimp cooked in garlic and Spanish spices.

Kang Kang
康康

Kang Kang will be showcasing Gansu spice at the fest, with a range of dishes that use peppers from Tianshui in Gangu county. 

Menu Highlight(s):

  • Cheese Spicy Chicken Grilled Cold Noodles – a Korean-Chinese fusion dish that uses Korean noodle brand Samyang’s chicken noodles as a base with Anchor mozzarella cheese melted over the top.

Exclusive Dish(es):

  • Spicy Barbecue – high-quality beef and lamb skewers covered with a spice blend made from Gangu chili peppers and more than ten other secret ingredients.

Drinks:

  • Cactus Juice

KIRU
尖儿

KIRU will be featuring spicy dishes from Japan at the fest. 

Menu Highlight(s):

  • Yakitori With Special Yakitori Sauce or Red Oil – a variety of Japanese classic skewers such as eel, chicken, and wagyu beef, all handmade and paired with a special spicy blend created specially for the fest.
  • Curry Tonkatsu – a traditional tonkatsu curry turned up a notch with a spicier sauce. 

Drinks:

  • Passion Craft Signature Mix – Unicorn Shark's signature Passion Fruit Craft Beer is combined with fresh passion fruit pulp and hand-squeezed lemon juice. 

German Restaurant
甲丁坊

German Restaurant has looked beyond just Germany for their dishes at the fest, also incorporating flavors from Mexico, Guizhou and South America.

Exclusive Dish(es):

  • Sour Soup Fatty Beef Arepa – Guizhou-style fermented red sour soup with beef is paired with Venezuelan arepas (corn cakes) that have been enhanced with a splash of Sprite to elevate the acidity.

Drinks:

  • Lemon Mint Sprite Special – Sprite is infused with freshly squeezed lemon juice and finely chopped mint leaves.

NBEER CRAFT BREWING 
牛啤堂精酿啤酒

Craft bewpub NBEER will be doing a range of spicy Chinese fusion dishes at the fest.

Menu Highlight(s):

  • Qiannan-Style Sour Mango and Chicken Burger – old Guiyang-style chicken thigh topped with a mujiangzi (木姜子) and malaguo (毛辣果) sauce finished with spicy and sour green mango. 
  • Pepper Flame Pineapple Beef Brisket Taco – slow-cooked beef brisket paired with a Zhangshugang charred chili sauce and sweet and sour pineapple. 
  • Spicy Double Heroes Taco – mala crayfish and slow-smoked Angus brisket in a Guizhou chili rub.
  • Double Bounce Hit! – Spicy chicken tendons cooked with ghost peppers paired with chili-crusted crayfish.

Drinks:

  • Cucumber Sprite Glutinous Rice Smoothie
  • Cucumber Milk Glutinous Rice Smoothie

PASTA-MANIA 
满肉意面

PASTA-MANIA will be showcasing the spices of Italy and Thailand at the fest.

Menu Highlight(s):

  • Spicy Signature Pasta – spaghetti topped with a whole Italian-style meatball and a spicy sauce.
  • Thai Lemongrass Chicken Thigh – a deboned chicken thigh is marinated with lemongrass, lime, chili and a variety of Southeast Asian spices and then cooked until crispy. 

Exclusive Dish(es):

  • Australian Cheese Pinwheel Beef Roll – debuting at the fest, beef, mozzarella cheese and spinach are cooked over a low heat for explosive results.  

Tough Tongue

At the fest, Tough Tongue will be showcasing a range of Chinese chili peppers, including Sichuan lantern chilies, erjingtiao and "bullet" chilies.

Menu Highlight(s):

  • Hot & Spicy Garlic Ox Tongue – fresh and tender beef tongue is braised then grilled, brushed with a secret sweet and sour garlic sauce, and topped with a special spicy glaze.
  • Hot & Spicy Lamb Kebab – selected Mongolian lamb is hand-cut and skewered into hefty chunks, seasoned with a handcrafted blended chili spice mix. 

Drinks:

  • Crimson Lucky Star – an alcohol-free plum sparkling drink made with nine natural ingredients and zero artificial flavors or sweeteners. It's lightly sparkling with a refreshing, sweet and tangy taste!

fleeting by A26 Space will be bringing a range of their Sino-Western fusion dishes to the fest. 

Menu Highlight(s):

  • Spicy Explosion Beef Cubes – crispy fried beef cubes tossed with toasted sesame seeds, served with a “Danshan” chili dip.
  • Crispy Pig Ear Tartare With Sichuan Spice – a twist on the classic Sichuan-style spicy pig ear salad with added French flair. The traditionally rustic slices are transformed into precisely cut cubes paired with a foam sauce. 

Drinks:

  • Fizzy Orange Sparkle – a refreshing blend of tangy citrus and fizzy sparkle, delivering thirst-quenching coolness.
  • Guava Fizz – crafted from premium red-fleshed guava juice and blended with velvety sparkling water for a refreshing and vibrant drink.

Fragrant Mountain Blessing Banquet
香山福宴

Fragrant Mountain Blessing Banquet will be showcasing the flavors of Sichuan at the fest.  

Menu Highlight(s):

  • Sichuan Chilled Rabbit (冷吃兔) – tender shredded rabbit marinated in a fiery chili oil sauce with Sichuan peppercorns, served cold to intensify its bold, numbing-spicy flavors.
  • Spicy Chicken (辣子鸡) – crispy fried chicken chunks tossed in a fiery wok of dried chilies and Sichuan peppercorns, delivering an addictive mala kick with every bite.

Wildflame

Another spot bringing the flavors of Thailand to the fest is Wildflame.

Menu Highlight(s):

  • Thai Style Sour and Spicy Boneless Chicken Feet – boneless chicken feet are mixed together with lime, passion fruit, garlic, onions, bird's eye chilies and a range of Thai spices like lemongrass, lime leaves and galangal.
  • Passion Fruit Lemon Shrimp Slider – not the burger kind of slider, this sees shrimp coated in a sauce made from lemon, passion fruit, fish sauce, garlic and fiery chili.

Drinks:

  • Starry Sky Iced Smoothie – a refreshing summer drink.
  • Bulldog Cocktail – with flavors like grape and mango available.

Grand Millennium Beijing

Grand Millennium Beijing will have a range of Jinzhou BBQ dishes at the fest, along with international and local drinks.

Menu Highlight(s):

  • Lamb Chuanr
  • Grilled Squid

Food Yuchang
裕昌食品

Food Yuchang will be bringing the mala heat of Sichuan and Chongqing spice to the fest.

Menu Highlight(s):

  • Spiced Chicken With Chili Sauce – chicken is stuffed with Dahongpao Sichuan peppercorns and chili peppers and then slow-boiled in a spicy brine.
  • Spicy Duck Products – a range of their signature duck delicacies made using traditional braising techniques and infused with the bold, spicy and numbing flavors of Sichuan and Chongqing.

Sanqilin BBQ
三其凌

Sanqilin BBQ specializes in all things Sichuan, combining spicy chili peppers with Sichuan peppercorns for that signature hot and numbing mala flavor. 

Menu Highlight(s):

  • Sichuan Tingle-Spicy Skewers
  • Garlic-Infused Fiery Hot Skewers

Drinks:

  • Fresh Mango Smoothie – fresh mango is blended with ice until smooth, making the perfect drink to cool you down and help provide some spice relief. 

康师傅

康师傅 will have a range of spicy noodles on offer at the fest.

Menu Highlight(s):

  • 康师傅 Spicy Instant Noodles – signature spicy beef flavor noodles with chili, spices, vegetables, sesame seeds and cilantro flakes.
  • 康师傅 Spicy Turkey Stir-Fried Noodles – noodles tossed in a thick, spicy sauce paired with crispy sesame seaweed for extra crunch and umami flavor.

iGELATO
iGELATO意大利手工冰淇淋

For this fest, iGELATO will be offering a range of their gelato, which is made using only fresh, natural ingredients with zero additives. They've also created a special spice-infused gelato just for the fest.

Menu Highlight(s):

  • Sicilian Blood Orange Gelato
  • Dark Chocolate Gelato
  • Berry Sherbet Gelato
  • Strawberry Sherbet Gelato

Exclusive Dish(es):

  • Spicy Dark Chocolate Gelato – single-origin cocoa from Santo Domingo paired with Tabasco sauce for a spicy kick.

818 Tequila
818龙舌兰

Founded by Kendall Jenner and crafted in Jalisco, Mexico, 818 Tequila is a premium tequila using 100 percent blue weber agave. Known for its smooth, versatile profile, it's perfect for sipping or cocktails.

Menu Highlight(s):

  • Sour & Spicy Paloma – a classic cocktail featuring tequila, it's blended with Hainan yellow lantern chilies, IPA, mango and other tropical fruits to highlight the “spice” and warmth of 818 Tequila.

GOOD WATER FARM 
良水农造

GOOD WATER FARM will have a range of their signature rice wines at the festival. Dedicated to sustainable agriculture, GOOD WATER FARM is based on the banks of the Fengxi River in Fengwu Village, Yixian County, Anhui. Natural spring water from the nearby mountains is used to make all of their rice wines, giving it distinct Jiangnan characteristics.


Hot & Spicy Fest will be taking place at FFC South Square on Jun 20 from 4pm to 9pm and on Jun 21 and 22 from 11am to 9pm. Standard Early Bird Tickets are RMB 25, Magnet Early Bird Tickets are RMB 35, VIP Tickets are RMB 100 and Standard/On-Site Tickets are RMB 35. The Venue 

Hot & Spicy Fest will be taking place at FFC South Square. Situated next to the East Third Ring Road and one street away from CCTV Headquarters, the South Square of Fortune Financial Center is an excellent location for events. Line 10's Jintaixizhao station exits onto the square, making it super convenient to get to. The square itself was designed by internationally renowned landscaping company ACLA of Hong Kong and features over 60 different kinds of green plants, including ginkgo, magnolia, and cherry trees. The square has hosted a multitude of cultural and artistic activities.
