It's the National Holiday! While many of you may have left Beijing for the holiday, for those who have remained in the capital, there is still plenty to do! Today, we'll be taking a look at some events to hit up and activities to do tomorrow, Oct 7.

Taco Tuesday at Pebbles

What better way to enjoy a much-needed break than with good food at a cornerstone Beijing culinary institution?

Pebbles has been a beloved member of the Beijing dining scene for nearly 16 years, and they’ve been doing Taco Tuesday for almost as long. It’s really a great deal: Ten of Pebbles’ delicious, authentic soft corn tortilla tacos for only RMB 108. You choose up to three fillings. Pebbles’ drinks are also fantastic, and altogether, a meal at Pebbles is the perfect way to spend a chill evening in the company of good friends.

Veg Out Tuesday at Side Street

In our recent series exploring vegetarian and vegan options in Beijing, we highlighted the many options at Side Street for vegetarian- or vegan-friendly grub.

English Stand-Up Comedy With Nico TooMuch at The Comedy Citadel

Nicole TooMuch has become a staple in the Chinese comedy scene, representing a strong image of a Chinese woman living her life on her terms. Her comedy touches on her new marriage, childbirth, raising a baby and also not letting go of the core of who she is while she adapts to adulting.

Catch her tomorrow, Tue, Oct 7, 7.30pm, at Nanyang Theatre.

Can’t make it tomorrow? No problem. Nicole has three additional scheduled dates at The Comedy Citadel this year.

English Stand-Up Comedy featuring Nicole TooMuch will be taking place at Nanyang Theatre Tue, Oct 7, at 7.30pm. Early bird tickets are RMB 88. Regular tickets are RMB 108. Additional scheduled show dates are Oct 25, Nov 22 and Dec 20.

Tuesday Trivia at The Local

The Local’s regular Tuesday Trivia is on as usual during the holiday. There's no entry fee, and all are welcome to join! The quiz is in English, but they accept correct answers in your native language.

There's no minimum team size; just show up with your friends, or join up with an existing team that's short on members.

Prizes are designed for teams of up to six people, as they want to keep things fair for smaller teams. If you have more than six people on your team, please consider splitting into two smaller teams!

Teams of more than eight people will be penalized 1 point per round per extra person. Huge teams can still win, but it will take some work!

Prizes will be given out each round and for 1st, 2nd and second-to-last place teams. Even if you're dead last, you'll have something to fight for!
