Busy Holiday 2: Yoga in the Park, Jazz Fest, & More

It's the National Holiday! While many of you may have left Beijing for the holiday, for those who have remained in the capital, there is still plenty to do! Today, we'll be taking a look at some events to hit up tomorrow, Oct 2. 

Yoga in the Park at Chaoyang Park

If you're a fan of al fresco yoga you'll be pleased to hear that over Golden Week Taozi Tree Yoga will be hosting daily Yoga in the Park Sessions. Taking place at Chaoyang Park in partnership with Moka Bros, attendees will be guided through a 75-minute yoga class by one of Taozi Tree's experienced instructors. After each session, participants are also welcome to join for an after yoga branch at nearby Moka Bros in Solana. 

Yoga in the Park will be taking place in Chaoyang Park each day until Oct 8 from 10am-11.15am. Classes are RMB 50 and can be purchased by scanning the QR code in the poster above.  After signing up you'll be given the details of the exact location for the class.

2025 Jazz Art & Life Fest at Chaoyang Park

Over Golden Week, WeiboIN has partnered up with DEFACTTO for the Jazz Art & Life Fest. Taking place at Chaoyang Park from now until Oct 8, there will be 35 performances across eight hours daily, blending music, art, and lifestyle into an immersive fall experience. It includes some Beijing jazz favorites like Ember Swift, the Ah-Q Jazz Arkestra, Tone Pop and many more. Along with the live performances, there will also be a creative market with food, arts and crafts and other goodies up for sale. 

The 2025 Jazz Art & Life Fest will be taking place WeiboIN Plaza inside Chaoyang Park from now until Oct 8 from noon until 10pm each day. Tickets are RMB 9.9 per day. You can read more and purchase tickets via this link.

Unveiling the Mystery of Chinese White Tea at The Hutong

Join The Hutong for an interactive workshop all about Chinese White Tea tomorrow afternoon from 2.30pm to 5.30pm. During the workshop, participants will dive into the history, culture, and health benefits of this treasured leaf. It will include a tea tasting, where participants will get to try a range of classic varieties, explore their unique flavor profiles, as well as learn proper brewing techniques through brewing their own cup. Both beginners and seasoned tea lovers are welcome! 

Unveiling the Mystery of Chinese White Tea will be taking place on Oct 2 from 2.30pm to 5.30pm at The Hutong. The workshop costs RMB 300 for non-Hutong members and RMB 260 for members. You can book your spot by scanning the QR code in the poster above. You can read more about the event here.

Half Price Shashlik at The Local

The Local recently updated their food menu and added Shashlik to the menu, which you can grab every Thursday for half price from 3pm to 9pm, with the purchase of any drink. You can choose from Steak (RMB 188), Lamb (RMB 188), Chicken (RMB 138), or choose any two for RMB 188 (prices here are shown in full; with the deal they will be half price). If you're planning on hitting up The Local at any other time during the holiday, they also have half-price deals on burgers on Mondays, burritos on Tuesdays and wings on Wednesdays. On Fridays, Fish and Chips are only RMB 68 and on Sundays, when you order any steak, you'll receive a complimentary side of your choice, a glass of house red or white wine and a small dessert. All the deals run from 3pm until 9pm.
