Look, China there are many tasty Chinese things Iike to eat. Nonetheless Chinese food is a bit retarded. You never understood the sandwich, don't really know anything about bread. Ignorant of butter, milk and cheese, dont know anything about mustard, dijon or otherwise. So please stop telling me how wonderful Chinese food is if you haven't been outside of China.
What is wrong with exclusion of people who do not fit into one's culture? There is extensive literature that indicates social capital is directly related to relative homogenity.
I have dear friends that are of Ukrainian, Italian, Zimbabwaan, Chinese.Jamaican, Polish, extraction. Does my friendship with them in any way diminish my life as a white Anglo-Saxon? Not in the least, they enhance it. The only division of people I recognize is asshole/not asshole and there are lots of both sorts about; it just requires a bit of intelligence to sort them out.
Personally I don't much care for governments and countries. I do care for, indeed love, a few individual human beings, of various races. Love your country? Patriotism? I don't even know what these words could possibly mean.
This reminds me of a true story. The last time Japan's Abe and I were trying to hash out the 钓鱼岛 situation I, to lighten the mood told him the old limerick about, 'There was a young man from Nantucket &sucktera.' Ol Abe just stared at me and said, 'no comprehendo' in Japanese. So I haikoo'd to hin: "Nantucket young man/ Wiping chin and wide-grinning/ Into ear-hole, yes!" Man, you shoulda seen him laughing to bust a gut. Inculturation is a delicate art, 'specially when it comes to framing poetry with the right concatenation of syllables.
So there we was, sittin at the cafe, sippin water, at Maria, bar wench's chagrin, Gino had a bottle of grappa, which he luxiouriantly supplied to all and sundry. Timmy was nearby, hopping on one foot, counting beats and computing algorythms, whilst mapping cracks in bricks.
Hairy Mary Anne sits squimingly on my lap, Nick Serpento looks studious, and examining his fingernails. Gino Machiavelli is busy picking his nose, Micky and Geza are playing mumblydipegs, All in all, just another day.
Suddenly Timmy afronts them all., ' I have calculated everything. There is no funking pandemic. It is all fraudulent, intended to furthur enslave you'. So saying, he began playing backwards hopskotch, with the wee ones.

Speaking of rebellions, I sometimes ask my students what the hell was the Taiping Rebellion all about. Reply `Don't know much about it'. If it ain't on Douyin it don't exist.
In one account I read of the Taiping Rebellion, in Zhenjiang, where I was living at the time, it was stated that corpses so filled the canal that people crossed the canal walking on the rotting corpses that filled the canal. I used to ponder that every time I took the bus downtown and crossed the canal.
What did you ponder? The corpse walk itself? Filling the canal with fresh cadavers? Both?
Simply pondered the imagery. Imagining this canal (not the Grand Canal, but an offshoot, dashikou (大市口) 镇江。) Littered with corpses.
Hey! That's a misintentional high-coo, like what the Japanee write. Them and creepy art-major chicks in college.

None of these sentences fit the metre of haiku, and were not intended as such. Good to have a creative mind reading, though.
Actually almost no haiku in English fit any meter. Somebody vapes their hash oil, mutters a couple of sentences, then splits that up into three lines and, Viola! Instant haiku on toast!
Back in the day when I was a lousy roustabout, there I was, spinnng my heels, sippping a pint a a Victoria BC bar, name unremembered, when who do I meet but Robin Skelton, whose book I had just purchased yesterweek. It was called `Islands, Poems in Japanese Meter' or something like that. I bloody well consumed that book, bus ride up to Prince George, there to work in the bush coupla months, make a shitload of money. So don'tcha go sussin me bout haiku!

Corona Virus found to exist under toenails, long haired folk, and people thinking about Wittgenstein. Therefore all feet should be immediately chopped off, long haired folk immediately embaldened, and your thoughts will be analysed for Wittgenstinian influence. Decapitation may follow.
I don't think about the author of Tracktitis Lodger's Cold Philosophi-Puss much. I do get inter some fairly explicit reveries about a Hannah Arendt-Savitri Devi cat-fight though. Is that healthy?
You are clearly infectious. Please sign up for next decapitation session. Check with your local health AUTHORITIES!!

Because of this ingrained cultural message, men are twice as likely to try and manage their emotions by binge drinking or drugs, are more likely to die from suicide than women, and have much higher rates of violent altercations and outbursts according to MindWise, a non-profit mental health initiative based in Massachusetts. (unquote)
You're writing a logic textbook, right? This is as shining an example of post-hoc reasoning as I have seen. Men have a higher rate of successful suicide than women, true. But to claim this is BECAUSE of traditional mores is quite a leap. Meantime, I was just looking at an article that claime femal suicide attempts outnumber male attempts 3 to 1. (https://save.org › about-suicide › suicide-statistics). Using your brand of unreasoning reason, can we conclude that women's greater willingness to seek help and admit to pain causes their epidemic-level of suicide attempts? Correlation means cause, it seems, in Grischa "No Credentials Mentioned" Grunau's world.
Look, I know the agenda is to clinicalize ALL human behavion and to control in the name of "help." But to lapse into such blatant agenda pushing strikes "we few, we happy few" as a bit condescending.
Reason schmeason, I can manage my emotions quite dandifully well with a wee bit of a liquor tear. Suicide ain't now, ain't never been anywhere near the table of options. I'm afraid I am here untill the bitter end. I don't really need a doctor, surely don't need a psychiatrist.

Re: Stop Starch Shaming and Embrace These Savory Chinese...
Another thing, a bit bothersome, is the concept of toasting bread and putting butter on it thereafter, is completely foreign to Chinese people.
