You obviously haven't tried the ultimate dry noodles named: biangbiang mian.
The Character biang is one of the most complicated Chinese characters ever, but the noodles are just amazing. I used to eat them at the Parkson Department store food court (5th floor) on the East 4th Ring road, but haven't managed to find any decent restaurant serving them in CBD yet.
They do come with a so called soup (the water they were boiled in) on the side, so there actually is some "soup" for you as well. :)
Actually biangbiangmian is generally the same as youpo chemian when you order them in Beijing. The complicated character biang imitates sounds in these situations: the sound of the elastic dough hitting down on the table and immediately bouncing up, the sound of raw dough dropping into boiling water, and the sound of eating the chewy flat noodles.
A promoter says Jimmy Page is coming to Beijing next Wednesday to announce an all-star globally televised concert, to be held at the Bird's Nest on Earth Day, April 17. Shunya International Public Relations spokeswoman Laura Lee said the Culture Ministry has approved the International Show of Peace Concert, and government officials will attend the press conference at the Ritz Carlton. She said a tentative list of more than 35 acts has been drawn up, but admits they are not confirmed, noting the event is still several months ahead. Lee said the only other confirmed act to date is Michael Jackson's former guitarist Orianthi. However, Lee said she believes the event will really happen because the promoter, Rick Garson, has a proven record and web of contacts from when he promoted the Divas in Beijing concerts during the Olympics.
An official at the "China International Friendship Cities Association" confirmed the Culture Ministry had approved the event and said her organization would be monitoring it. She referred further questions to Garson's organization. Bird's Nest spokeswoman Shi Lei told Beijing818 that negotiations are underway, but no deal has been struck.
The website for the event looks particularly empty of content and unpersuasive, claiming it has "invited" an impressive looking roster of more than 50 of the world's hottest acts. If Page really does show up along with government officials, Beijing818 will be joining the scramble for tickets, which City Weekend reports will be free. But we would like to remind people that Garson issued a press release on Sept. 13, 2006, announcing a similar concert would occur later that year at the Coliseum in Rome. It didn't.
You obviously haven't tried the ultimate dry noodles named: biangbiang mian.
Not sure if I'd agree with you there.
The first photograph of noodles looks a lot like biangbiangmian to me, although it's not described as such in the article.
The bean sprouts, the shape and size of the pork bits, shape of the noodles and the combination of condiments (lajiao and MSG) look identical to biangbiangmian, at least to my eyes, and in comparison with the biangbiangmian I eat at a mall in Wangjing.
If there is a difference between the youpo chemian in the above photo and biangbiangmian, please enlighten me.

You weren't even given the chance to have a legal representation? Something is REALLY wrong with the story. And I can't believe you gave in to the woman's demands. It is easier when you give money buy that doesn't solve the problem. It is like admitting that you did something wrong.
Question: When you realize it is not possible to get the justice , will you be happy to just pay 10 kuai for your freedom and good sleep? I will.
so the lady just pop in and start insulting without any reason?
I believe the lady probably had problem with the party host before, but she was mainly annoyed by the noise next door, or maybe she was just basically annoyed that people have happier and more interesting life than her.
I have a friend had party in Dongzhimen and her neighbor called police to come over to stop the party. It happened in Dec last year.
I think when people organize party indoor. They should consider their neighbors and try not to disturb other people's sleep or normally life, but this old lady is ridiculous.

I do genuinely find what i read hard to beleive based on looking around Beijing and seeing greedy landlords taking down perfectly organised and run businesses for an extra quick buck!
No Accounting for basic manners or lack there of........or plain stupidity.

For its preservable (high content of oil and sugar) quality, legend goes that a muslim called Zhangqian took Tanghuoshao as a wise food choice for the hot weather when going on a pilgrimage to Mecca.

Pijiu12,
This was particular writeup was posted twice by our automatic blog scheduler by mistake - the author had nothing to do with its recurrence.
Also, Phil's Pub is not a client.
Our apologies for the confusion.

Hi, Justsaying, Happy New Year.
To clarify: It was an informal press conference, a group interview.
I transcribed this myself from my notes, edited it and then approved it with the communications director at China World before posting it.
