Beijing News: National Holiday Subway Adjustments

To accommodate expected passenger flow during the upcoming National Holiday, the Beijing Municipal Transportation Commission has announced some subway scheduling adjustments. 

Partial Closures of Some Stations

Sep 30

Line 1

• 天安门西站 Tian’anmen West
  • Closed
• 天安门东站 Tian’anmen East
  • Closed

Line 2, Line 8    

• 前门站 Qianmen
  • Closed from the scheduled departure time of the first train until 7.30pm (trains will pass through and not stop)
  • Resumes normal operation 7.30pm until the scheduled departure time of the last train

Oct 1

Line 1

• 天安门西站 Tian’anmen West
  • Closed
• 天安门东站 Tian’anmen East
  • Closed

Line 2

• 前门站 Qianmen
  • Closed all day

Line 8

• 前门站 Qianmen
  • Closed from the scheduled departure time of the first train until 7.30pm
  • Resumes normal operation 7.30pm until the scheduled departure time of the last train

Special reminder: Tiananmen East and Tiananmen West of Line 1, as well as Qianmen of Line 2 and Line 8, will implement “phased” operation measures from Sep 30 to Oct 6 and will operate normally on October 7 and 8.

Extended Subway Times - “7 Railway Stations, 2 Airports”

During the expected peak days of the holiday, in order to manage traffic flow to around Beijing’s railway stations, some subway lines will have extended hours of operation. Below are the railway stations and the expected changes to related subway lines and stations.

    • Extended until 2am
• 北京西站 Beijing West Railway Station
  • Sep 30
    • Line 7 北京西站 Beijing West (towards 高楼金站 Gaoloujin)
    • Extended until midnight

    • Line 7 北京西站 Beijing West (towards 高楼金站 Gaoloujin)
    • Extended until 2am
• 北京南站 Beijing South Railway Station
  • Sep 29, Oct 5-6
    • Line 4 北京南站 Beijing South (“up” tack; towards 安河桥北站 Anheqiao Bei), Line 14 北京南站 Beijing South station (“up” track; towards 善各庄站 Shan'gezhuang)
    • Extended until 12.30am
  • Sep 30-Oct 1
    • Line 4 北京南站 Beijing South (“up” track; towards 安河桥北站 Anheqiao Bei), Line 14 北京南站 Beijing South station (“up” track; towards 善各庄站 Shan'gezhuang)
    • Extended until 1am
  • Oct 7-8

    • Extended until 2am

    • Open at 5am
• 大兴机场 Daxing Airport Station
  • Sep 30-Oct 1, Oct 7-8
    • Daxing Airport Line 大兴机场站 Daxing Airport station (“up” track; northbound)
    • Extended until midnight
  •     Sep 30-Oct 1, Oct 7-8
    • Line 19 草桥站 Caoqiao (“up” track; northbound)
    • Extended until 12.30am

Lines 2, 3, 4, 7, 10, 14, 19 and the Daxing Airport Line will operate in a “loop network” during the extension times. Transfer between lines will be possible during the extension times.
