What would be your dream cover of a song?
Johnny Cash covering The Flaming Lips “Waitin’ for a Superman.” Cash’s cover of “Hurt” is the greatest cover song ever.

What is your favorite music video?
Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears’ “Mustang Ranch” is hands-down the funniest music video out and it’s a great song from a great band.

What record are you most embarrassed about having on your iPod?
I’d have to say anything by Three 6 Mafia, and I think I have all of their albums. I’ll go with Mystic Stylez. It’s so hedonistic, savage and sexist I wouldn’t want my mom to catch me listening to it. We’d both blush.

Which artist would you most like to go for a drink with?
This is a no-brainer. I’d polish off a couple bottles of whiskey with Ben Nichols from Lucero, the hardest working band in showbiz.

If you were a boxer, what would be your entrance music?
I would choose to play something light, mellow and sweet like “Click Click Click Click” by Bishop Allen. Hopefully, my opponent would be caught off-guard enough that we decide to talk it out and not punch each other in the head. I do not want to be punched in the head.

ADAM’S 5-SONG PLAYLIST

“Hey Darlin’ Do You Gamble?” by Lucero
I put this love song on repeat and think of my girl. My sentimental favorite from the band I adore.

“Hold On” by Alabama Shakes
Builds slowly with a groovy snare and bass, subtle, soulful lyrics and grows into soul-shaking moans from lead singer Brittany Howard, this generation’s Janis Joplin.

“Booty City” by Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears
Is your party a tad lame? Put on this record and get all the skinny people off the couch to shake their rumps to the funkiest band in Austin – James Brown be praised.

“Blood of a Young Wolf” by Buck 65
One of my favorite songs off my favorite album. Modern art by a man born in the wrong time.

“Paul Revere” by The Beastie Boys
In third grade I asked for two albums for Christmas: one by the Beach Boys and one by the Beastie Boys. For showand- tell, I recited “Paul Revere.” My classmates stared blankly, my teacher watched in horror.
